"Our stay at the grand Naniloa was ok. I would say 3 stars. Not 4 and it wouldn't allow me to unclick that 1 star. Staff was great but the only down fall I really hated about staying here is because I feel they did not accommodate the guests parking at their property. Every parking stall in the property was only valid for valet parking which was $25. Can u imagine paying that for everyday of your stay. They make you park across the street in a remote empty parking area where there is low light...

"Room was large and spacious. Walk in closet. Large HDTV. We got to see an endangered nene goose from our balcony! Only negatives about the room was shower/tub drain was very slow. The lights could have been brighter in the room. Palace tower, room 3269. PS My wife was distressed at the hungry kittens that appeared in the morning and evening begging to be fed. They should be taken to an animal shelter and not euthanized. The hotel staff was wonderful."

"Property is nice and clean employees very nice the only bad is this is the first resort where I stayed that check out is at 10am . Everywhere else is at 11am with some even at 12am"

"Mahana House was a lovely, well-appointed lodging. The room was very spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the comfy robes, lanai for morning coffee and evening cocktails, and the yummy fruit we picked on the farm. The shared kitchen and laundry had everything we might have overlooked. We even enjoyed fresh homemade banana bread from the housekeeper, Val. We grabbed a cooler and beach towels for day trips. We were able to do laundry before leaving. "The beach on the property was awesome. The guys on the ATV's on the beach need to minimize there trips past the chairs with umbrellas, they went back and forth too much. They also need to travel down the sides of the chairs not through the middle divide of the chairs. "

"The host was very friendly, and shared some great tips for visiting the Hilo area. Check-in/out instructions were helpful and easy to follow. The building itself is a little tired and could use some updating/cleaning. The unit was well equipped and cozy. The beds were not particularly comfortable and overall I would rate the accomodations as 4 star"
