"Firstly, the distance from the train station is NOT 6 minutes! By Google maps at 10pm (no traffic) it is 12 minutes away by taxi. The whole hotel reception, corridors, and rooms are shabby and dirty. We checked out early."

"Arrived hot and dirty after long ride. No water in the room. Can't buy a beer in the restaurant or even at the 7-eleven in the adjacent shopping area. Restaurant closes 7:30. If you want a drink you need to buy it at the steakhouse at the other side of the property and bring it in."

"The Phuttal Residence is located on a beautiful river/canal. We stayed in the family apartment, though there were just the two of us. The furniture and accommodations were nothing fancy, but everything was clean and orderly. The breakfast was excellent. Even though we had a kitchen, we did not cook. Please note that you will need to order a taxi to find a restaurant. It is about a 10 minute drive to center of Ayutthaya."

"Location of the hotel is quite good on the river and close to the train station and main road into Ayutthaya. Overall the hotel is in serious need of a refurbishment. The shower was poor located above the bath. Water pressure was low and at busy times very little hot water. The flexible shower cable was too short and I had to squat to wash my whole body. "The room had NO hot water and It smelled awful. The very nice staff tried, but could not solve the multiple problems. The restaurant food was absolute garbage and there is NO other food available within walking distance. The hotel has NO amenities! Customers were jogging around the parking lot to get in a workout. Elevators as small as boxes. Lousy and inconsistent TV service. This hotel is as low class as you can get. Better off sleeping in the street!"

"Decided to stay at Baan Penny during a 1 day visit in Ayutthaya. Chose this hotel for its close proximity to the temples and based on previous visitor reviews. I was so glad to have stayed here! I was nicely welcomed by staff and by Gerhard (owner of the hotel).
