"Decided to stay at Baan Penny during a 1 day visit in Ayutthaya. Chose this hotel for its close proximity to the temples and based on previous visitor reviews. I was so glad to have stayed here! I was nicely welcomed by staff and by Gerhard (owner of the hotel). Gerhard then showed me my bungalow, the facilities, then arranged to lend me a bicycle (available to guests) so I can leisurely tour all of Ayutthaya. He even gave me maps and key tips on which temples to visit, attractions I shouldn't...

"The Phuttal Residence is located on a beautiful river/canal. We stayed in the family apartment, though there were just the two of us. The furniture and accommodations were nothing fancy, but everything was clean and orderly. The breakfast was excellent. Even though we had a kitchen, we did not cook. Please note that you will need to order a taxi to find a restaurant. It is about a 10 minute drive to center of Ayutthaya."

"It was in a quiet area, away from traffic and loud streets. The rooms were comfortable, spacious, good priced, and relaxing. The pool was beautiful. The food/drinks were fair priced. The staff were friendly and helpful. It had good parking too it you have a car. I would say the only down side is if you don’t have a car it’s a half-mile walk to the main road to walk to any coffee/food shops. But it’s easy to find, so calling a taxi isn’t any trouble. I found my stay here stress-free. "

"When we arrived there was no one. Just 2 little barking dogs that mad the place small like a dog's place. Soi dogs (friendly) on the stairs. The landlord only talked to my wife. No registration of my passport. This is not according to the law. The room is spacious and is actually a small appartment. The breakfast was more or less ok. It could be very nice but you just don't feel welcome and I suspect that there are a lot of hotels in the neighborhood that make you feel a lot better 'at home'."
