"We stayed a lot of places on our trip around the UK and Ireland, and even though this hotel wasn't the nicest, it was one of our favorites! Our room was small and bathroom had seen better days, but we loved staying here! It is above a pub/restaurant, so food and drinks were convenient. Staff was lovely and fish and chips were amazing! Lots of shops and restaurants around and an easy walk over to the Shambles! Thank you for the awesome stay, Watergate Inn! :D"

"Full of character Beautiful furnishings. We had small executive double room , bed really comfortable , en-suite modern and clean Breakfast huge and delicious ! Across the road from York Minster Only minor complaint was that the bar closed early (around10.30) Other than that it was perfect and will definitely return "

"Very old property with an antique charm. Our bedroom was very well taken care of. Our only complaint would be the bathroom being a little narrow and damp. But these are things that must be traded off for when considering the age of the building. Its proximity to the Yorkminster made it very nice and easy. The food and drink as well as food service was very good. Servers and bartender were knowledgeable about the drinks and gave us good advice when it was needed."
