Great place to stay In York when travelling with a car. Great parking and the staff are wonderful. Beautifully located close to old town and within easy walking distance to all amenities. Definitely recommend

Great Location for the town centre

The Exhibition

This was a lovely hotel and in a great location. The breakfast was great and we got parking which really helps. Would definitely stay again.

Christmas stay over

Very festive beautiful deco, it felt so cosy .staff very cheerful and very helpful .very comfy bed and clean couldn't fault the place had a fantastic time and the lady who cooked our breakfast was so lovely as was the perfect breakfast. free parking .close to all amenities.will be going back .thankyou all .

Cute, kind of quirky place.

Our room was overlooking a very noisy rowdy beer garden but it was quiet by 11 so didn’t keep us awake. Breakfast was beautiful.

Exhibition Hotel York

A charming small hotel/pub with an excellent beer garden. Room was spacious & airy with adequate en-suite facilities. Breakfast was served in the conservatory - lots of choice & very good quality. Staff are very helpful & friendly. Added bonus is the free parking at the rear.

Great stay, friendly staff, close to everything

We stayed in Bootham room for 2 nights and loved it. Very friendly check in, made us feel welcomed. In fact, all of the staff we met here were very welcoming. We didn’t hear any noise from the pub downstairs and even if there would have been any, it wouldn’t bother us as at the end of the day this is a pub accommodation. Walking distance from main amenities. Great choice of tap beers, nice pub food and hearty breakfast with a lots of choices. I think we have found our hotel where to stay when we will be visiting York again.

The location is just moments away from a gate to the walled city and just a few minutes to the cathedral and it has parking. It is on a busy road. We were there when the temperature was hot and the configuration of the window and curtains didn’t allow us to leave the window open much overnight. Other than that it was very good and I would definitely stay there again.

What an Exhibition

Sshhh, don't tell anyone but this hotel is a real gem. From the welcome on arrival, the quirkiness of the hotel and beer garden, the wonderful staff and close proximity of all York centre has to offer; it is a hotel well worth considering. The hotel has just 6 rooms, we stayed in the Bootham. Clean and comfy bed with plenty of hangers in the wardrobe. Only plug sockets were by the dressing table (they did have usb in them too) no good if you usually charge your phone by the bed. The freshly prepared breakfast is served in the conservatory, the choice and portion size is a good start to the day. Go out the door and just a few steps takes you to city walls, tour bus, York minster, restaurants and shops. We had a great weekend and will be booking for next year.

Front door locked on arrival.

Would've been nice to have been informed there was a private function on during the day. We arrived to the front door locked. Was actually intending to eat there before checking in so consequently had to drag our bags with us on a baking hot day to eat somewhere else. On arriving back at about 2.30pm there was a note on the door to say 'closed due to private function'. No word for how to access. Went to the back and luckily a staff member saw us and asked if he could help. We then had to walk past all the bridal party in the yard area at the back, and again when we wanted to leave.

We spent one night at The Exhibition Hotel as a family. Quirky, friendly and welcoming staff. The only down side is the paper thin walls. That wouldn't stop us returning. Great location and lovely breakfast.

Nice friendly welcome from the gentleman working the bar on arrival Thursday 23rd October around 2pm, booked in and explained about breakfast, evening meals, on-site parking and what was happening at the pub over coming days. Shown to our room which was nice and bright, very clean and comfortable. The building dates from the 1700s so expect uneven floors and squeaky floor boards and lots of character in a nice way and things that catch your eye. Beautifully dressed for Halloween. The breakfast menu is well presented with a very good choice of items from cereal and juice to full English breakfast with toast and the smaller portions if you are still full from the generous portions of the evening meal menu, all cooked to order, fresh and hot, unless you have a salad which are fresh and normally cold. Kitchen staff are happy to change items around. Extensive range of drinks available at the bar including cask ales, lagers, keg beers, spirits, soft drinks and hot drinks. All the staff we spoke with were happy to help in any way, cheerful and friendly and all had a minute or two to chat and advise on what to see next. Located right near the city walls and only about 10 minutes walk from the cathedral this place is a little gem. Lovely historic building with lovely warm friendly people.

We stayed at this hotel for one night. It's close to the York Minster and easily accessible from the train station. The breakfast was fantastic with many choices, but it started late start from 9am. The hotel is above the Exhibition Bar with a nice atmosphere. You can go down for a drink at night. The only reason for 4 stars is that the bed is too soft, as I felt it would collapse while sitting on it.

Great stay at the Exhibition hotel

We very much enjoyed our stay in this charming hotel, which boasts clean and comfortable rooms and a convenient carpark for guests in a popular area of York. The staff were friendly and hospitable and accommodating in all measures. The breakfast menu was surprisingly broad and the food delicious. We spent a pleasant few hours sipping good ales and tasty cold spritzers in their extensive beer garden listening to talented local musicians at their excellent open mic.
