We stayed one night as a stopover on our way home to Scotland. We had a superior double room in the lodge part of the hotel. Stunning room. Very spacious even with what looked like a super king bed. Lovely to have the little terrace space. Had a delicious meal in the restaurant and excellent breakfast in the morning. I was greeted by a lovely lady called Gill who informed me of all the information relevant for my stay, just the right amount not overwhelming like some places I have stayed. The room well Minnie house/cottage was beautiful, the decore suited the cottage perfect every last detail was in place. The bed was comfy and actual real plump pillows ahhhhh. Fresh milk in the fridge is always a plus, free parking and super quick free wifi. Will defiantly return on my next stay in York.

We had a 4 night stay to celebrate my birthday. What a beautiful place the Burtonstone inn is. A moden pub with 8 letting rooms. All the rooms are 1st floor with ensuite. Some have extra beds for kids to share. All are well thought out with nice modern touches. Water , tea, coffee, etc. Hair drier , tv and free wifi. Are all provided. The owners and staff are very friendly and efficient. Nothing is too much trouble. 10/15 minutes walk to city center and its many interests, sites , shops...

Booked as a getaway to celebrate my wife's Birthday. Arrived late but the Landlady was there to greet us (having called previously to check what time we were expecting to arrive). We'd been upgraded into a large and very comfortable room, containing a super queen bed (we'd given no pre-warning of the reasons for our weekend away). We had a really pleasant stay with a good choice of offerings for breakfast, all of which were well cooked and presented.

What a beautiful hotel next to the river a nice walk to the centre of York. Staff so friendly and helpful clean and comfortable apartment. With everything you wanted in a apartment. We even asked to have a look at the 2 bedroom penthouse suite and was given a guided tourer, we will book the penthouse suite on our next visit with friends. And with free tea/coffee in the lobby. A great 2 nights stay could not ask for more.

Great location and price. Full of character very welcoming and comfy. Considering the age of the building they have managed the space and updated the hotel with modern facilities. Personal touches of tea coffee and biscuits and toiletries,hairdryer etc. Included breakfast was fresh and good in choice of cereals fresh fruit toasts jams and many varieties of cooked breakfasts to your liking. Overall great value for money and centre location for town exploring.
