The room was not clean on arrival. The floor and the toilet windowsills were dirty, and the shower was unclean, with something visibly stuck to it. Overall, the standard of cleanliness was unacceptable. Considering the price of £150, this was extremely poor value for money. My partner and I did not sleep at all due to how uncomfortable the bed was. I eventually had to get up at 4:05am because I was experiencing pain in my back and neck. This stay fell well below expectations, and I would not recommend it.

The checkin process was annoying.It needs to be revamped.Checkout was seemless though.Didnt see a staff around in case anytg at no time of the day at all.

It was very clean and the facilities were as described. We had a twin room. It was downstairs next to the front door but it was very quiet in the property. We weren’t disturbed. Good tea and coffee making facilities. Fridge and bottled water provided. Host was on hand when we checked in and explained everything we needed to know. Just stayed on night. Met our needs comfortably. Uber from Betty’s York area around £5 each way. It is walkable too.

Quite poor

We stayed here on 25/07/2025 for one night. We arrived at around 15:30, and after quite a rude interaction with the person on the phone we finally got to our room, to be met by the cleaner who was still cleaning the room despite the fact it should have been ready by 14:00 (check-in time). Once he had finished, the room was still not in great condition. Marks all over the walls, and toilet not very clean. The whole place is just very tired and could do with a refurbishment and almost felt like it was the company's "forgotten property". Also messaged them about how to pay for parking in one of the spaces but never got a reply. Location however was good, about a 20 minute walk to the city centre which was ideal. There is also a couple of convenience shops on the doorstep which is handy. All in all, it is fine for 1 night but wouldn't stay any longer.

Don’t go!!!!

Thinking Diamond Villas sounded good and always wanting to support small business, we booked. Arrived and had to wait for a man to come from next door to let us in. The room was SO small with a shower in the bedroom right next to the bed. The toilet and sink were next to shower behind a door. The room was Clean and a clean bed, but VERY dated and Not worth the £150+ we paid…. Thanks be we only booked for one night. The limited parking was being used, so extra cost to park the car. We opened the window wide and there was a powerful fan, otherwise we would not have stayed as very claustrophobic. Oh and we were told ‘no alcohol in the room or you will be removed and charged £25 for a deep clean’….. Never had this is the MANY holidays we have taken. By far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in - AVOID

As a solo traveller with simple requirements, the property ticked all the boxes - own shower and immediate hot water, toilet, TV, kettle, bed was comfy. Just about close to town. Room was small but perfectly functional. Price was very fair. However - to me it is not made clear that there is no full-time reception. On arrival with no answer of the doorbell I had to ring a mobile number. What if my phone had been flat? This needs to be made very clear, especially for solo travellers. The check-in over the phone worked OK and I got into the room, but it is quite hard carrying bags and receiving instructions on phone about numbers to put on keypads. On arrival into my room I wasn't expecting stairs down and didn't see them as I was on phone receiving instructions as to where keycard was in room. If you want to go fully remote, these instructions could surely just be emailed on day of planned arrival? So very serviceable room, building/decor needs a bit of TLC and remote check-in needs to be streamlined.

This was right on a bus line and close to York center. Room was small but fine for just sleeping in.

Property was perfect for the price. Clean and welcoming. Shower was nice and the bed was comfortable. I was able to get in touch with the management on arrival. Tap in the ensuite was cold and despite running for a while, did not produce hot water. The building was subject to some noise pollution and you could clearly hear other guests in other rooms. Other than that, I would book again.

Nice stay

The hotel is well located. I stayed in the annexe room at the rear of the building accessed through a small yard at the back. Recently decorated the room was clean, warm and surprisingly quiet. Bed was very comfortable, and a very spacious bathroom with nice thick towels. My only criticism would be that there is a strong smell of new carpet in the bedroom

Could be better

Room was small. The shower was an add on in the room. Door didn’t shut, toilet was cold and the bed was extremely hard, instructions to get in were not great stood on the door waiting for 10 mins
