"An interesting, slightly quirky but genuine old-style coaching house and all the better for it. Staff are excellent, breakfast great, dinner slightly more mixed - maybe should have gone for the pizzas. Lively and busy in the evening, nice and chilled otherwise."

"I arrived 15 min early and they wanted to charge me 20 pounds for early checkin. Called for extra towels and they did not deliver. Went to the front desk to ask for towels and they said that they did not have any available."

"Lovely setting, great welcome, food superb, staff friendly and helpful We had the suite (kingfisher) which was an excellent room except for a radiator being stuck on in the bathroom. The lady in charge (lovely lass) managed to get it sorted as the outside temp was up in the 30’s!!! If I have any criticism of the room, a little use of bleach would have gone a long way but please don’t let that put you off. The place is very very good. This is our second time staying and it definitely won’t be...

"If you want somewhere to stay that is reasonable in price and puts together a good evening meal and breakfast with good beer behind the bar then this is for you. One small drawback my satnav could not find the postcode!!"

"This is a single room detached building beside the host’s house and it is absolutely delightful. The bed is comfy, the bathroom has lots of big fluffy towels, there is coffee and tea in the room. The weather was warm while we were there but there is cross ventilation and a fan, and we were able to enjoy breakfast outside in the beautiful garden. I would highly recommend this for a couple wanting a quiet place to stay that is convenient to explore the Salisbury area."

Bed very comfortable & the small double room I had was perfect just for me. Food in the restaurant was delicious & there was a good choice. Breakfast plentiful, well presented & hearty. "Food poisoning the first night, rooms hotter than the sun, zero water pressure in the bathrooms. Constantly chasing staff for the most simple things. They ran out of ice. No fans for the rooms. No one collecting glasses or emptying an ash tray. Asked for a coffee in the morning and waited 15 minutes.. got up to ask where it was "oh i couldn't find you" yeah because you were in the kitchen flirting with the chef.. Could be such a wonderful place, if the staff weren't recreating Fawlty Towers"

"Big room, very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Convenient breakfast already in our room when we arrived. It was a little tricky finding the right place to park on our first day but the owner directed us and we had no problem after that. Very convenient for visiting Stonehenge, Salisbury, and Old Sarum by car. Ate dinner on the same street at the George Hotel."
