"Two very bad things, and other pretty bad things. 1. There is a different menu for Westerners. We noticed other guests were eating meals that were not on our menu, and the next day for breakfast the same thing happened - we were given a Western breakfast (no menu, no order taken, just given), and the other guests had a Thai breakfast. I then found the Thai menu, and discovered that it was a book, with more than triple the number of meal options. Once asked about this (using a translation app)...

"Mi Pa Ai is truly a magical place. The room was incredible and Patt is the best host you could imagine. 2 days felt like a week of vacation, and I didn't want to leave. One of my new favourite places ever. "
