"We stayed at The Fleece for a couple of nights. Our welcome as a pleasant professional one, despite the bar and restaurant being busy. Our room and the linen was very clean, and although quite warm, there was a fan provided that did the trick. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was good, and the breakfast, which was included, was delicious. Lovely beer garden/ courtyard to enjoy a relaxing beer. "Lovely quiet location, superb room in the cottage opposite the main pub. Food was lovely and catered for my gluten free requirements. We only stayed one night but would love to go back with our dog and check out the local walks for a weekend."

"The homestead in a lovely period property with matching decor. The room was spotless, spacious with lovely en-suite facilities. Maria and Kevin, the hosts, are lovely people, very friendly and make you feel at ease as soon as you arrive. We stayed overnight as we were attending a wedding at Wennington Hall. Kevin very kindly offered to drop us off and pick us up when we were ready to return. This saved us a lot of hassle trying to arrange taxis to come out for just a short journey. Thanks Kevin...

"Very friendly staff, nice big room (called falow), excellent breakfast, excellent evening meal staff very helpful sorting out a taxi for us, the room was warm due to heatwave so needed to keep windows open so we did notice some noise from the kitchen fans but this could not be helped. Very good car parking. Overall an excellent 2 day visit and would highly recommend."

Breakfast was included and we were asked beforehand what we wanted so it would be ready for the time we requested. And it tasted wonderful. "We have stayed here several times over the years as our daughter attended Lancaster University. This has always been our “Go To” place and has never disappointed. It is clean and tidy and has everything you need for a short visit. Our daughter has now graduated, but I am sure we will be back in the future and look forward to coming back to The Royal."

The decor in the room was beautiful and it was very clean with plenty of tea making facilities including ‘proper’ mugs and a teapot with tea cosy which was a lovely extra. However the room was very, very small and it did not have any drawers or wardrobe to store clothes (there was a small rail in the corner with four hangers to hang a few items). The en-suite was also very small but it was supplied with lovely White Company...
