The room was clean and the staff were lovely and accommodating. Unfortunately no WiFi signal in our room and the hot water was barely warm in the bathroom, but we enjoyed our stay.
Great location for our base for the places we wanted to visit, easy access, fabulous staff, fabulous food, staff couldn’t do enough to help you. Building is a beautiful quirky place, and bedrooms a great size. A bit limited for places to eat outside of the Maypole, but their food was excellent.
Lovely stay the night before the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. I got a big sleep in and plenty of space in the room!

Country pub with good food option. Bed was tiny and uncomfortable, shower only provided scalding hot water! Breakfast doesn’t start until 8.30am but they provided a good lunch as an alternative.
The service was great, food wholesome and sensibly priced and the room/bathroom was excellent.
However, poor or non-existent WiFi really let down what was an otherwise excellent offering.
Friday night pub quiz and activities were great… staff were exceptionally nice and attentive and made us very welcome. Food was really good and reasonably priced .. we will be back 😊
Cosy hotel. Lovely spacious room which was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Shower was huge and loads of hot water. We had evening meal and breakfast, both delicious and perfectly cooked.
I used this place as a base for exploring the Dales. Great staff: very welcoming and friendly on arrival, in the pub, and at breakfast (which was great). The building has a lot of historical character (creaky floors, wonky doors and low beams) but is well maintained and comfortable. Pub downstairs was also full of local characters and made for an entertaining evening.
Excellent food and lovely room wuth walk in shower. Stayed 2 nights and could not fault it.
Breakfast was superb and didn't need anthing till evening. Evening meal was good, had chicken in white tarragon sauce with vegetables and chips.
Other people on other tables also said how good their food was.
Loved the old photographs of the area in the bar
Would stay here again and recommend.
I did worry a little bit as I check in at the bar in a pub, but it turned out to be for no good reason. The staff was very friendly, and the room is one of the nicest ones I have ever stayed at. The breakfast was excellent, and dinner too. The lamb shank in particular was delicious! I really enjoyed my stay here!
Clean and quirky if a little musty smelling room. We slept well and were given a warm welcome. Breakfast was good and my boiled eggs cooked to perfection. Tempered a bit by an unhappy waitress at lunch on Monday. Maybe short staffed? Great food and overall a wonderful place to stay
Really lovely hotel, beautifully furnished and equipped and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed. Unfortunately for me it was quiz night on the night I stayed which was loud and distracting as I was trying to work also breakfast was only served from 8.30am which was when I had to leave although Gill was very accommodating and provided me with cereal, orange juice and coffee. Bar staff are fabulous and the food really delicious, I just wish that I had been given a quieter room.
Stayed here in 2023 and excellent once again.
Lovely room 1 Pen-y-gent the walk in shower i wish i could take home. Plenty of tea coffee in room and toiletries.
Had steak and ale pie with veg and chips. Big chunks of tender meat in luscious gravy, chips were home made and not the usual frozen ones! Meal was excellent.
Lovely fire in bar which was really welcoming on such a bad day
Nice breakfast.
Great you could check in after 2pm as the weather was awful out and could check out at 11 am.
Enjoyed my stay again and will be back.

Room was pleasant, amenities very good, breakfast very nice. However room wasn’t very warm both thermostats on radiators on highest setting yet not very warm. Couldn’t get any hot water on sink but shower was lovely and hot.
We arrived on a busy Friday night so had a drink in the pub and were invited to do a pub quiz which was good fun. The room was beautiful. Low ceilings but a good amount of space to move about. Very clean and also quiet so we had a good sleep. Breakfast served 08:30-09:30 which was perfect for us. Cooked breakfast or cereal. Basics but done well. Ideal really. The staff are all very friendly too and treated us both well.
Lovely people and delicious food. Bar was very friendly. Spacious room (#5) and big and comfortable bed. No internet in bedroom (think it was faulty as it showed a signal) but OK in bar. Water pressure in room #5 very poor but clean a pleasant bathroom. No mobile service but that is obviously not The Maypole’s fault!
We notified Maypole Inn of our expected arrival time and Staff kindly kept the kitchen open for us as we were late arriving - Excellent evening meal and generous portions.
Additionally, we were allowed to use the kitchen freezer overnight for our cool box.
Rooms and bathroom were very clean and tidy although there was a patch of damp/dirt in the corner of the celling in the main room.
Breakfast was satisfactory and included a choice of cereals and a limited cooked menu.
Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout.
Overall, I would recommend the Maypole Inn.

The food was the main attraction, it was delicious.
The staff were great and welcoming.
The only niggle was the force of the hot water from the hot tap and the shower head. It was just a trickle from both.

Good size rooms for family of 4. Good breakfast of full English or kippers. Great food from the pub below for dinner. Excellent all round.
Note: If you are sensitive to noise, dont bother as you can hear the pub from downstairs. Otherwise it's good!
