"Proper country pub great food and ale and quiet location"

"We only stayed for one night but it was brilliant. The cupcakes, milk and eggs left for us were a really lovely touch. My granddaughter was so sad to leave that we will bring the whole family next summer."

"This hotel is very well situated, the parking is a bonus and the views from the restaurant are stunning. The food was well cooked and the waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. We appreciated the age of the building and the reason why there was no lift but we struggled somewhat to lug two suitcases up to the top floor as our room was in the converted attic. The view from the room was great and the room itself was spacious, it could have benefited from a fridge and some of the roller...

"Serviced Room rather than a hotel but no problem in finding it and gaining access! Excellent for comfort and cleanliness with good shower!"

"Room was shabby, furniture scratched and well-worn. Bathroom icy cold. However, on bringing these points to the attention of the staff, a heater was delivered - thank you. Obviously there was no quick solution to the shabbiness of the room (suite 2 Manor House). Some of the food was poor, but again on raising this, staff dealt with it. On balance, we feel the staff did what they could to manage our concerns."

"The property was excellent for what we wanted with family in the village. Great pub downstairs. The property is in a very rural location, only another pub and a shop"

"Had a very relaxing break here. Excellent location. Plenty to see and do."

"Neil and his team were perfect hosts. Our room was spacious and comfortable and spotlessly clean. The meticulous attention to detail, wonderful breakfasts and very friendly and helpful hosts made our stay memorable. Thank you all. Michael and Linda"

"The property is in need of a refurbishment, particularly the wooden floor. Quiet grubby, cobwebs and generally in need of a deep clean. The marketing pictures do not reflect the condition of the property."

"How lovely. A bit dated but wonderful staff who couldn’t have been more helpful and charming. A lovely room. Exceptionally clean. Beautiful setting. And amazing breakfast. I have stayed before and their standards are just as high. Fully recommend."
