"I stayed here for 1 night with my husband on my birthday. The staff were excellent, expecially Neil the lifeguard in the pool. Disappointing that the sauna was out of order and the gym very small but Neil arranged for us to go to the Haven the next morning to use their pool, gym, steam room and sauna. We had a lovely room with a super king bed and great sea view. The breakfast was good and the dinner excellent."
"Our stay was very good and comfortable overall. However, I believe the SPA area needs more attention, particularly in terms of safety and cleanliness.
Pool Area: The floor around the pool was wet almost all the time and was dangerously slippery. A yellow warning sign had been placed in the area, but there was only one and it was not clearly visible from the entrance. More importantly, warning signs alone are not sufficient. The floor should be mopped and excess/splashed water removed frequently throughout the day to minimize the risk of someone slipping and getting injured.
Sauna & Steam Room: The floors in both the sauna and steam room were not sufficiently clean. In particular, the area underneath the benches in the sauna was visibly dirty and gave the impression that it had not been thoroughly cleaned for quite some time. Considering the hygiene standards expected in a SPA facility, I believe more frequent and thorough cleaning is required.
Apart from these points, we had a very pleasant and comfortable stay. I am sharing these comments constructively, as some additional attention to the SPA area would significantly improve the overall guest experience."
"Great hotel , modern , great working spa facilities. If there was any comment maybe on weekends breakfast could be extended until 10.30 ? Just in spa for an hour , time you are out and changed it left no time for breakfast"
"I got upgraded to the Carlton next door as it appeared the East Cliff Hotel was having repairs. Very helpful staff. Nice big room. The breakfast was good. A bit noisy in the morning as I could hear the people in the room above constantly walking around."
"Pretty impressed with this hotel and we would use it again. Staff were absolutely lovely and gave us a great welcome. Even offered us fresh milk on arrival for a tea or coffee.
We were also informed about a wedding that was happening but this wasn’t an inconvenience. The room was lovely and had everything we needed for one night; although the room was very warm. The only real issue was paying to park and my car was completely covered in bird poo, and I mean covered when we checked out this morning. Not really the fault of the hotel but Parking was limited upon our arrival due to the wedding which was fair enough, however had to squeeze into a space under a tree will avoid next time when we stay. Our daughter is in uni so we will be looking for a regular place. Love the whole eco ethos of the hotel as well."
"Drop point, taxi.
Some time drop us outside near first building near main road, therefore signs to get to reception are no guiding clear, because the area, is big and also at night time arrival can be a challenge."
"This was only a one night stay but it was great - good room with quiet air conditioning, helpful staff at 11.00 p.m. check-in, and well cooked breakfast with plenty of choice. Can thoroughly recommend this hotel."
"Absolutely massive single room in a beautiful quiet area. Really convenient location for seeing the sights of the county. The wet room isn’t very practical and there isn’t much sound insulation. Neither of these bothered me too much though and I would happily stay again. Thank you!"
"This property is unique and rare - owned by an innkeeper who welcomes you to his table with warm hospitality and decades of history to share. Mr. Miller is a wealth of information and retired thatcher.
This is not a place for you if you need a well-appointed hotel to feel good about leaving your home.
This is a historic property with purbeck flag stones and Welsh slate on the kitchen floor. The stove is as wide as your arms. There are wild pheasants in the fields and silent nights nestled in a hidden valley a bit off the main road.
This a place where ruins of the past sit on the land beside a welcoming farmhouse.
Great for introverts, writers, couples, families, and solo travelers. Backpackers will love it."
