"Have stayed at this location multiple times, with each and every occasion being absolutely wonderful! The staff are so lovely and the rooms are always in impeccable condition with a wide variety of ammenities that I still keep being pleasantly surprised by. I always reccommend Totara Lodge when friends and family mention wanting to find lodging near Wellington and have yet to hear any bad reviews from them either!"

"Had a small kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator with cookware and dishes. Room was very clean. Had a small balcony. No restaurant on site but there are options nearby. There is even a grocery store to buy water and stuff. We get very safe. They give access to a well equipped gym which was amazing. The housekeepers gave us bandaid when my daughter got hurt. I locked myself out by accident in night- the manager answered the ring and helped open my door within few minutes, even though...

"Parking is disappointing to have to pay - a major was the fact that i had an e-mail and my understanding of the word VALET meant the car was looked after and cleaned inside and out while we weren't using it !!!! the car wasn't in a covered area but at least we were lucky and had one of the few parks outside the hotel but again why such a high price for there own spaces.Lovely and very relaxing bath and good pressure with shower. Lounge room abit basic and obviously no welcome little bits .Poor...

"The hotel is quiet, super comfy beds and clean. The rooms are small and the bathrooms are a bit dated, but that didn't matter as much, as it was the cleanest hotel I've been at in a while. It's also walking distance to shops, cafes and the Beehive."

"Buffet breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of food. The staff are polite and efficient. The location of the hotel is excellent and within easy walking distance of Te Papa, theatres,Parliament and restaurants. The only downside of my stay was an excessive bond($100 per room per day) as I do not have a credit card. This would limit the length of stay at this hotel"

"Still in the process of new owners taking over, so for example can’t accept Amex yet. Most things remain the same - lots of opportunities for new owners to improve, from a fairly average spa with only a few jets working for 3 minutes at a time, to noisy rooms with average aircon. Breakfast very overpriced and omelettes especially poor."
