Reserved a larger room than one assigned. Correct room was offered, but it seemed that 3 people would have to change rooms. I just wanted a bed and some sleep, so stayed in smaller room. No problem. Staff offered a nice split of bubbly as apology. Was thoughtful and happily accepted. Noise levels and dog barking well into quiet hours (after 22:00) was unacceptable. Nothing was done about this. Very nice property (with some work going on on the grounds) with excellent amenities. But not the place to stay if you want a good night's rest.

Everyone needs to know this is a guest house and you share everything with other guests other than that the king room has a private bathroom. First night there the temperature in the house was 25C and no air conditioning running. As a matter of fact I couldn't even find controls for it, the room certainly had nothing and it was on the higher portion of the bi level and perhaps even hotter than the . I tried sleeping without sheets and traded the pillow for a folded up towel. I complained next morning about the no AC situation and was told it was a whole house unit and it wasn't that warm. The next night started the same way but at 11pm the ac came on and a tiny cool breeze entered the room and managed to cool it from a miserable 25C down to 21C by 7:30 am when it was promptly turned off. For over $400/ night you would expect a good night sleep and not have the owners cheap out 2 cents on not running the AC. Very bad experience overall.
