Hotel is in a cool area, within walking distance to monuments in Vicenza, and City Center. Entrance to parking lot is tight, and easier to get in from a left hand turn. Rooms are bare bones basics, but comfortable. Staff was friendly, but the multilingual component only applies to a few staff members, but even if there was a language disconnect they were still very friendly. For a quick business trip it was enough.
This hotel is fairly austere but comfortable. I understand it was a former guest house for a convent. We were able to walk down to old town and sight-see. The walk back is all uphill. The doors are closed at midnight so one has to return before then.
Finding hotel is somewhat difficult as it is hidden behind a long wall with no obvious entrance. Entrance to parking lot was through a narrow archway but, once inside, parking lot was spacious and grounds well maintained and attractive.
Stayed only two nights during January, so pretty cold. First night arrived very late but before reception desk closed at 23:30. Rooms use a manual lock door key that is left with the front desk anytime you leave your room and are leaving the hotel grounds.
Our room was very plain and sparsely decorated/furnished with only 2 single beds, 2 nightstands, a desk, one wooden chair, a wardrobe, and a coat rack. Artwork consisted of one small wooden picture of the Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus. The bathroom was fine with a walk in shower and good water pressure. So, while plain, the room was warm and comfortable. Oh yes, no TV.
Breakfast was a cold breakfast but not a typical European breakfast of cold cuts and cheeses. There were cereals, yogurts, breads, and coffee but even some hard boiled eggs would have improved it greatly.
The only issue we had with the hotel was the somewhat misleading wifi availability. Unless located right next to reception, wifi is only available in the common areas of reception and the lounge, NOT in the rooms. Additionally, rooms have the 3-prong (in a row) European power outlets, not the round 2 prong plugs found in most of Europe.
While I recommend the hotel, just be aware of its limitations.
