  • El Escorial was built by King Philip II in the late 16th century to serve as both a royal palace and as the seat of the Catholic Church in Spain. In addition to the palace the complex includes a basilica, a convent, a school, a library, and a pantheon. While El Escorial is impressive from the outside, we actually found it a little austere on the inside. In many ways it felt more like a fine art museum than a typically elaborate European palace (such as Versailles). That said, there are some impressive sights, including works by El Greco, Bernini, and Giardini. The library was also quite beautiful, with richly carved wood shelves, a marble floor, and a colorful fresco ceiling by Pellegrino Tibaldi. For me, the highlight of the tour was the 180ft long (55m) Hall of Battles – a barrel-vaulted room where the walls were completely covered in frescos depicting Spain's military victories over the Moors and the French. All aspects of the battle field were portrayed (when you have 180ft, that is quite doable), and the artist employed an interesting trick whereby the more distant, smaller scenes were less saturated, and the background mountains and landscape were set in hues of blue. Overall I'd say El Escorial is worth a visit, but you probably won't need more than a couple of hours to enjoy it.

Me gustó el clima y los alrededores . La chica del restaurante Galeote, encantadora, al igual que el resto de trabajadores.No me gusto el estado general de ls instalaciones, sin reformar y muy antiguo. La habitación muy grande pero las camas muy muy incomodas, colchones de muelles que se clavan, una decepción la verdad. Y cobrar a los huéspedes del hotel por ls hamacas de la piscina, una decepción también.

Me parece caro el precio para lo simple y sencillo que es. La limpieza normalita, lo que si estaba sucio era la puerta de la habitación que por dentro lo que es el pomo y la puerta estaba sucio lleno de marcas y huellas, que justo de eso no hice foto. Por lo demás, todo normal.

오래된 호텔이며 객실 에어콘이 제대로 작동하지 않았으며 침대또한 매우 작고 불편했음 에어콘이 작동되지 않아 방 변경을 요청하여 바꿨으나 바꾼 방은 냉장고가 작동이 안되고 샤워실 물이 안내려가는 등 전체적으로 낙후되고 불편한 객실을 가지고 있음

Hotel al lado de todas las actividades acuáticas.

El hotel está inspirado en los barcos. La habitación estaba amplía y aunque eran literas y camas nidos, las camas eran cómodas.. La pintura, molduras y mantenimiento estaba bastante mal. El baño muy amplio. Accedes a las piscinas gratis. Y tienes muchas actividades. El entorno es precioso.

The hotel locates at a far away from the address we got from the Expedia, and without clear direction after the address. We spent 10 minutes to drive back and forward in the area before we could find the right direction. There were a live music show that night started at 11:00 pm. And we were waked up because of noises on the hallway at 4:30 am. There were a lot of people talking and running load, and the sounds of door opens and closes.

No meio da Serra mas perto de muitas atrações

O Hotel é muito confortável e fica numa zona muito bonita, em plena serra, perto de uma Barragem. Foi-nos transmitido à chegada que teríamos que ficar alojados noutra unidade: Segovia Sierra. Trata-se de um hotel melhor, com piscina interior mas com acesso à piscina do Be Smart. O pequeno almoço é bastante variado e os funcionários atenciosos. É uma excelente opção para visitar a região: perto de Segóvia, Granja de Santo Ildefonso, Escorial, Vale dos Caídos e Ávila.

Just what we needed

The hotel staff, from the front desk, to the security officer, to the staff in the restaurant and cleaning people we accommodating and had a smile on their faces each and every time. The pool is not actually part of the hotel, it is a private pool club less than 25 yards away, but you should know it is not "right" in the hotel. Pool club has a full service bar and snack stand. Pool was clean and staff was attentive, however there is a cost to rent chairs and there is only grass to lay out on. Lake connected to the club had tons of activities and we had our older kids do the blow-up obstacle course on the lake. They loved it, but that lake looks like it is pretty dirty - had them shower right away. Did a nice day drive to Segovia and that is a great city. This hotel gave us a good break as we drove from Galicia to Barcelona. Nice job at the hotel.
