Room For Improvement
We use booking.com a lot for a variety of personal travel and in this case made a very last minute reservation at this place without really looking at other alternatives in Steveston. Instructions for check-in via email stated needing a key code into their home and they would give us our # - they are absentee owners and English isn't their first language. We called and had several confusing conversations. However upon arrival to the house, greeted by a very nice and friendly woman who is Canadian and were assisted in all ways that we needed with kind attention and explanation. in general, this is not someplace I would ever chose to stay at again - it's not designed to accommodate most western culture needs and I'm an American-Asian. Interior furnishings very Chinese, artificial and not useful, big house with no comfortable space for human interaction/tv;our roomhad no appealing aesthetics with lumpy pillows, no top sheet (a polyester coverlet), bathroom was clean with bare necessities -sparse and very basic furnishings. Overall, the entire house held No Charm. It was a few miles to the town of Steveston but not without transportation. In a residential cookie-cutter neighborhood. The house manager was the best part of our whole experience! Perhaps the owners need to decide who they want their clients to be and represent themselves accordingly. With the assistance of their house manager, there's room for improvement!
