"Very traditional Ryokan experience, with the Tatami floors and Kaiseki meals. Staff is very attentive. This is not a traditional "luxury resort" (don't expect service and standards of a four seasons or ritz carlton hotel). Rooms felt a bit antiquated, but I think this added to the charm of the hotel as it positions itself as a place to have a more traditional Japanese experience. It is about a 10-minute drive from the main town on the island, so it is a bit out of the way. If you want to be close to the action / shrines on the island, this probably isn't the hotel for you. If you want something super quiet and private, this is a good fit."

"It was a wide traditional tadami room. The wash stand is too short for us (I am 174 cm tall and my wife is 166 cm tall). Except that, traditional Japanese gaisheki dinner and breakfast were excellent.
