Such wonderful hosts and a great location! We had a great time going from onsen to onsen and stopping at the snack bar across the road before retiring for the night.
Very quiet, clean, and peaceful environment. The house manager was very hospitable. If you’re looking for an authentic experience, this is the place to stay. WOMEN ONLY. Absolutely best part of our trip (we stayed at four other “high-end” hotels which didn’t compare).
Kinosaki was the best part to my trip, the owners were so friendly and pleasant! The guesthouse is well maintained with a very spacious, open, shared sleeping area on traditional Japanese futon which may not be to some people's tastes but it is a unique experience. You are provided with yukata, small towels, and a basket for your belongings, but you cannot purchase the onsen pass from the hostel; this is not a problem though as you can purchase the pass from any of the main onsens. Everything is very walkable, there is an 11:30 curfew though which is also of no issue to me as most places close by 11PM.
What an absolutely lovely stay! The sisters are the cutest and their guesthouse is cozy and clean and a perfect experience for visiting the onsens. A ticket for the hot springs is not included, and a one day pass is not valid for 24h but one day, so keep that in mind since the check in is at 15 :) you do get a yukata which definitely adds to the experience so maybe worth the wait though. I bought an extra ticket for my favourite onsen the following morning before check out and that was also totally worth it! (Goshono-yu that conveniently brings you luck in love.. happy single lady here!). The only thing I regret is not staying two nights because it is such a lovely place and I didn’t want to leave by any means! I would recommend this guesthouse and Kinosaki to everyone!! Thank you for making my stay so beautiful
My experience at Wakayo guesthouse was lovely. I had the best sleep I’ve had in years! The women who run it are very sweet and helpful and I would highly recommend it if you are staying in Kinosaki Onsen!
The staff very kind and from the moment I entered it felt like I'm home, I'm grateful and so happy that I stayed there! (They also provide free rental yukata!!, I was surprised! Thank you for every thing!!
The atmosphere of this traditional Japanese guest house was great and the staff was super friendly. Building itself and the little garden was beautiful. Just around the corner from onsen spas, restaurants and shops. Lovely experience. Highly recommend this guest house.
Virkelig hyggelig lille ryokan. Følte det som om jeg var hjemme hos en lokal familie. Kan helt anbefales for at få en lidt lokal, traditionel oplevelse.
The sisters owning the guesthouse are really friendly and give you yukata and guidance on local area. You don't get a free Onsen pass and the house is quite cold even with the heater in the room. But the family history of the house makes the atmosphere so cute and nice.
Fantastic stay at this lovely little inn! Friendly staff, good facilities, lovely spacious room! Our host talked us through everything and she lends you Yukatans to wear as you pop round the onsen around town along with lending a japanese bag, umbrella and shoes. Nice kitchen area free to use too for those on a budget.
