"There is no single feature that stands out, meaning it is an excellent overall experience. We got upgraded to a suite with stunning views out to the ocean. The whole place is clean, well staffed and the level of service is impeccable. The spa facilities were amongst the best we have ever visited. If you want a truly relaxing break where the staff can’t do enough for you - this is the place!"

"This was possibly our best hotel experience ever. It was my husband's 50th birthday and management helped to make it truly special.The hotel room and facilities were stunning. The Cliff Bay is very well located, on a beautiful bay a few minutes walk away from the port area (I would recommend this distance away from the cruise ships). We enjoyed a couple of meals from room service (best burger ever...and we've tried many). On the opposite side of the scale, the Il Gallo D'Oro Michelin experience...

"One word that sums up Reids is ‘Classy’. From check in to check out the attention to detail is impressive. The facilities are top notch - we enjoyed the tennis courts and the salt water pool. The breakfast was delicious - and the daily ‘special’ adds to the experience. The room was very clean and comfortable too - what a view! Overall very very ‘Classy’. Loved it. "

"Everything about Quina Jardins do Logo is excellent. The it was only our second stay and we were welcomed like old friends. The gardens are wonderful. The breakfasts set you up for the day and the atmosphere feels relaxed all the time. Rooms are well apointed and always spotless. We wanted to book for next year before we left but the prices had not been released."

This time we bought the three dinners at Atlantida restaurant, all of which we fab but the fish and seafood night was the highlight! "Awesome rooftop pool and view towards the sea. Location was also a great location for walking into central Funchal and had bus links too. For any tours booked it’s in the catchment area for hotel collection at least we found anyway. Breakfast was great too! "

"It was the perfect room over looking the ocean. It was a great way to start my birthday weekend. The staff was exceptional. I really appreciated the little extra touches, like having a birthday cake made out of towels and flowers and an actual birthday cake in my room. It's convenient to a lot of things. Everyone in my party would definitely stay here again."

" L’Hôtel Allegro – Madeira est très bien situé à Funchal. L'accueil a été très bon et très professionnel de la part du personnel. Les installations sont correctes et en bon état. Compte avec parking à l’entrée avec accès facile mais disponibilité des places limites. L'hôtel dispose de 1 piscine très bien aménagée. Petit déjeuner varié et bon. "
