"What an unexpected treasure Château de La Ballue. I had booked this stay while touring the Normandy beach landings for just one night. What a shame we were only there for such a brief time. The home is charming and beautiful. The room was perfection and the grounds were such a surprise. I had no idea they were world class manicured gardens complete with a labyrinth! "From my point of view this is primarily a business hotel. But, if you are traveling with a car and need a place to sleep the night near Rennes, this is a very good pick. It is very empty on the weekend and the rates are low and parking is secure and free. There are several restaurants and a monoprix of the far side of the big traffic circle. But, the only other attraction in the area might be the University of Rennes main campus. "
