We absolutely loved our stay at Refugio Hotel. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The atmosphere has such a great vibe—relaxed, welcoming, and beautifully maintained. The staff was amazing and truly made the experience special with their kindness and attention to detail. The food was incredible, and every meal exceeded our expectations. Everything was very clean and well cared for, and the location is perfect. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Our stay at Refugio was very romantic and pleasant. The front office manager, Augustin, did a very good job personalizing our experience to the best of his ability. He helped me pick out the perfect surf shop and beach location for waves and was exceptional being available for questions throughout our stay. This hotel is in a great location. The hotel features a bar, restaurant, and coffee bar where they roast the coffee beans in house. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were excellent. We were within walking distance of the Tamarindo night life, shops, and beach. Highly recommended.

Great property, they were very helpful and knowledgeable about surrounding places to see! Agustin helped us greatly when our shuttle out of Tamarindo canceled 5 hours before and managed to find an alternative for us! Overall, very easy to walk anywhere in town from Refugio. Expect some noise at night but they offer earplugs and truthfully it never was bad enough to need them
