Hotel Campanile stay

The receptionist was good and helpful, unlike the man taking the order's in the restaurant, who wasn't very helpful at all, in fact he was ignorant and rude. The evening food and breakfast was very basic to say the least. The rooms were like many motels. The rooms were very tired.

Sleeping in a Sauna

If you can sleep in a sauna this is the place for you. No air con or even a fan available. Room was very small and basic. Building looked like a 60's council house complex. Nice grounds but located in a run down trading estate. Nothing walkable in the way of bars and restaurants. We will not be returning.

SMOKIEST SMELLIEST HOTEL EVER.

THE SMELL OF SMOKE IN OUR ROOM WAS UNBELIEVABLY BAD. we had to arrive super early in the morning so there was nobody to complain too, but after a long drive from Calais, to be confronted with that smell was discgusting. My wife’s room was better. We had two kids with us who had to endure it too. To top it off a sign on the wall said €50 euro fine for smoking. IT WAS SO BAD WE CAN STILL SMELL IT IN OUR NOSES DAYS LATER.

Faulty towers

Charged at counter when already paid via Hotels.com. I pointed this out to the night staff and was told to contact Hotels.com cancel and get my money back via them. Asked for a beer and was told cash only as the hotel does not own the bar......Roll on, what a load of tosh! Stayed in a lot of Campanile hotels, mixed with the attitude not to help and the cash only at bar scenario. My vote is find another hotel.
