"The view from our room was simply spectacular. An executive room, number 4, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and jetty. Next to the jetty is one of two restaurants, the Tug, a few minutes walk and outstanding food and service. The room itself was great, comfortable beds, and wonderful shower with nice water pressure. The fridge was perfect for chilling wine and beer. The elevator was very much appreciated. We had the pleasure of talking to Jolande at reception, who managed to book an excellent tour for us, of the Skeleton Coast and Cape Cross. The other staff at reception were very helpful too, providing us with ice for drinks, and offering tips and answering all of our questions. The ladies at breakfast were simply wonderful, so friendly, and providing excellent service. Some good food choices, and the eggs were always a good way to start the day. We didn't use the bar onsite, as we purchased wine and beer at the grocery store just a few minutes walk away. Swakopmund is a gem by the ocean, and our stay at A La Mer couldn’t have been any better. "
"We really enjoyed our beachfront apartment at Beach Hotel overlooking the water. It is not right on the beach but it had a nice view for the sunset. Extremely large and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and waitstaff in restaurant were nice and efficient. Breakfast Food which was included was very good overall. For the price, an excellent choice."
"A lovely establishment right at the center of everything, beach restaurants, bars and shops. Nelly at reception and her coworkers were absolutely kind and helpful. They booked my transfers, activities and had great recommendations of places to eat etc. I was room 21, just over the bar. Room is spacious and beautifully decorated.
It needs a little more love as some of the deco is showing signs of age.
The bar closes around 9pm at 10pm, it’s all quiet. It was quite hot during my stay and the aircon in the room was an absolute lifesaver.
Nespresso. Machine in the room I was a definite plus for me. Breakfast was adequate and fruit was fresh.
As a solo female traveler, I felt safe throughout my stay.
Definitely recommend this place. "
"It was a huge breakfast with lots of options, hot and cold. Hot breakfast was made to order. Even though we had early morning excursions and an even earlier morning departure David was up and ready to serve whatever we wanted.
David also took the time to help us choose excursions that were perfect for us. When my husband left his phone in the van on one of our trips David went and picked it up for us. Could not ask for better service. "
"The rooms were modern and clean, the view was excellent, and it was close to the beach and town. Secure parking, lovely staff, good breakfast. Some of the details in the room needed finessing, e.g air conditioning was not connected, had to search for the right switches to make the light and fan work, etc. But overall recommended! "
