"Our favorite thing about our entire experience was the warm reception from Laura. We were a bit stressed upon arrival. She welcomed us, assured us of parking, gave us specific, helpful directions for that and sent us on our way to such a beautiful, clean room. "A wonderful property. Easy walk from the train and bus stations and downtown shopping and restaurant district. The staff was very welcoming and eager to serve our every need. The rooms were large, comfortable, with all the needed amenities. The restaurant has wonderful food. Our dinners were the best we had on our trip to Scotland. The breakfasts were bountiful and tasty. "Our actual room was across the parking lot, in another building. The bar and restaurant offered great food, beverages and good service. This is a great hotel with a ample amount of hot and cold breakfast items, but the actual quest room was minimal, e.g., the twin beds were very small by US standards, no extra amenities, just the basics."

"Friars Wynd hotel was an incredibly unique boutique hotel on my 3 week UK road trip. Within this area parking is very limited, but there was a car park within 100 feet of my door. There is free parking after 5 PM I think? Until about 8am? Which was completely acceptable. The room was absolutely adorable and I had a wonderful soak in their very large clean tub after driving several hours. Check in was very simple with Harry in the pub, which is connected to the hotel. "Really loved the spa and the property. Food was good. Only thing is the lake on the property was full of trash, probably not the hotels fault but if it's their property it is something to be addressed since there was water life living in the habitat. "
