"This place was a solid 4 stars, though the beautiful grounds, beach, and scenery deserve 5 stars. This is a heritage property and though there is a dated feeling to the furnishings, we found it gave a charming atmosphere and a nice throwback as a rustic northern resort. The cottages and rooms are simple and not modern, but the cost of staying here is pretty reasonable for such a spectacular location on the breathtaking Lake Joe. Other places nearby would have been $500 more for our 3 night stay....

"Worst hotel experience ever. The lack of basics like a dresser or a table or a closet. And you can't put your things on the floor because the portable AC unit in the room is causing a puddle in the carpet. If you try hanging your stuff on the little command hooks on the walls, they'll fall and take a chunk of drywall with them. There was a TV but no remote. There was trash under the bed. The decorations on the wall were damaged. No fridge, so bring a cooler, but be prepared to haul it up 3...

"We absolutely loved Rocky crest! We were a family of 8 plus 2 dogs. We were able to use all of the amenities. We travelled with a teenager and a preteen. Our entire family was able to access all the water sports and inflatable obstacle course. We ate at two of the three restaurants and it was delicious! Staff were very helpful. They even gave us free marshmallows for the bonfire. I would say my only frustration is that there is only one bonfire accessible to all families by the lake and when...

"Each cottage has its on dock and we spent days swimming and floating off ours on a clean, peaceful lake surrounded by beautiful scenery. There are lots of stairs to climb since the cottage is perched far up from the dock but we got a great workout."
