Actually it is up to the guest to make a decision, do you want a budget break with a complimentary breakfast, or do you want to put your hand in your pocket and pay for service and pay extra for a breakfast, because cost of food is going up and up, transport is expensive so shipping is major expense and staff wages are huge in Guernsey. Our business model is to try and keep costs to the guest a minimum others are putting the tariff up, closing of availability of rooms to deal with staff shortages. Your choice.

You didn't arrive Jamie, we left the key for you, prepared your room for you and ordered your breakfast. We never saw you.

Ok, thank you for your review. So shall we now get to the facts. Housekeeping is every day, but as it says in the folder a full service every third day, which means your sheets are changed, your toiletries are refilled. Breakfast is free in St Georges, you are not paying extra for it, it is complimentary. The staff get up at 5.30am and rack up enough food for 30-40 people. It would be impossible to individually cook for that amount of people, when you come down your freshly cooked food is reheated to your order. You are asked what you would like, if you want more then you can have it at cost. So we are very fire aware, and iPads and other devices are notorious for over heating, and should never be left plugged in an empty house. We have all kinds of devices left plugged in by guests, hair straighteners, adaptors etc. Our electrician recommends that nothing is left plugged in that does not belong to the Guest House because we don't know if its safe or not. Although you have given us a good mark, your review is written with a negative slant, and totally unfair when all we try to do is give you good experience.
