No communal space for a drink etc other than a small unwelcoming area between the front door and the reception hatch, which offered a very small range of self serve drinks. "We stayed in the Bootham suite, the room was light and airy and had a lovely small balcony to enjoy the sunshine. The four poster bed was very comfy and there was a small seating area to relax in. Breakfast was very good, everything is a la carte and the staff were very attentive. The hotel is in a great location, very easy walking distance into York but also very quiet and peaceful. The Pantry is a really nice touch but it was a shame that there wasn't a fridge in the room to keep drinks cool....

"They say to never judge a book by its cover and this also holds true for some hotels. Dean Court looked nothing if not stately in the pics and our expectations were high as we arrived in York. The good news, the location is great - close to the most wonderful shopping. Valet parking was also a treat. That said, the hotel itself feels like a lower-end motel masking inside a wonderful exterior. The first room we were shown had no windows and there are, apparantly, four of those rooms. We were...
