"A very pleasing stay the only downside was the 4 flight's of stairs to get to the room. The toilet seat was loose and a few things in the rooms needing improving like the kitchen lino that wasn't laid properly but above all a nice hotel with great views of Douglas Harbour."

"Great location. Parking space on car park to the rear. Spotlessly clean. William the receptionist / caretaker was excellent. Has everything you need. However, it sells itself as a luxury apartment and it doesn’t live up to it. Eg. In the bedroom there is only one bedside table and lamp. "Extremely roomy and well-appointed, very comfortable stay in a great location, just a few minutes from the ferry so great for walkers. Bus stop on the block, great transportation around the island. Enjoyed the view, excellent kitchen facilities, Marks & Spencer just a couple blocks away. Would definitely recommend for value for money. "

"The property is your typical Victorian BnB and only a block back from the Promenade. The staff were very polite and attentive and the included breakfast was good. The rooms are surprisingly spacious, although as is typical for buildings this old the walls and ceilings are pretty thin. If you're a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs. "The Empress is in a great location. The bus stop from the airport is extremely close (4). This id ideal for exploring the whole island. Staff were very friendly, we dropped off luggage prior to check in. The hotel seems to have recarpeted throughout and underlay very comfortable. "Hotel was being worked on(which was fine). Our room looked into a service area which was quite a mess and could be cleaned up a bit. Rooms could be serviced towels changed, bins emptied, tea coffee replenished more frequently Everything else was good. Breakfast excellent. Rooms clean and large.
