"As a cornish resident we noticed a cheaper last minute deal through hotels.com . Excellent greeting at the gate, the chap gave us a map and a clear explanation of the grounds and access to parking. We arrived a little early and left the car while then visiting the town and harbour. Walk down was simple enough. Walk back took a bit longer as a long steady hill. Check in was quick and all staff were super polite. The room was really spacious and clean. Bathroom was large with a big shower. Only disappointment was no black out blinds or curtains which meant we were awake early. Bar was nice although a little quiet. The grounds and other amenities looked really good. Lovely view of the harbour from the road around the castle. Didnt have breakfast so cannot comment. Lovely stay. Will keep an eye out for future deals. "

"Had a great stay for my boyfriends birthday, the staff were really friendly and helpful, the room had a gorgeous view, short walking distance into town, breakfast was lovely, nice that they had parking for guests. There was live music in the restaurant on the first night we were there, we got 20% off eating in the restaurant, the only thing I'd say was that the menu wasn't particularly vegetarian friendly, there was only one option of a pea and mint pasta which was a bit odd! Would 100% recommend."

"Immaculate accommodation which my grandchildren wanted to live in forever. Close to supermarket drive is 2 minutes but we walked, easy enough. 18 minutes from the beach walking distance. Train to St Ives so no hassle of parking there. "

"Great staff, nice newly renovated room, good location a short walk to St Ives & Caribas Bay - there is a great footpath below the garden. Unfortunately overpriced so very empty when we were there. Also charges for lots extras. Would be good to have an information pack of things to do in the area."

"Had a poor experience at this hotel I would not visit again I checked in 31st March had a long drive down the woman on the reception was not helpful at all we checked in slightly earlier but she just said check in is 3pm I get that I’ve travelled the world my point is she was just rude she couldn’t even suggest in waiting in the lobby, I had to take all my cases back to the car as there is no direct car park for this hotel which is another joke no one tells you this till you arrive so they take your keys away we don’t know where it gets parked and they keep the keys, well I wasn’t going to let that happen. Went for dinner that night the guy that welcomed us was very nice and welcoming as for the other staff which really let’s this places down are very lazy not pro active I asked for 2 cocktails a pornstar Martini I’ve never seen a pot rat martini served like this before was so watered down and the presentation was poor, dinner was good apart from the desert chocalte pudding more like rock hard straight out the freezer when asked the waiter he said he would let the chef know that’s no good like I said poor customer service let’s thisplaced down then at brekkie my chair broke in front of everyone again the staff are not active at all so lazy I had to ask if I could move tables and then on top of that we had to wait for our cooked breakfast over 30 mins bearing in mind the hotel is not busy yet so I dread to think what it would’ve like at peak My Tv in room and internet crap "
