"Absolutely loved this place in the Medina, just a few minutes walk from Zeitouna Mosque. It's tasteful and beautifully presented, evocative of times gone by and just like the lovely pictures. Everywhere you look there is something nice to see. We were in a lovely large room and it was a delight to wake and look out at the courtyard and eat on the veranda in fresh air. We were here in February - the Medina was very quiet at night and our room was peaceful. The staff were ready to help - Hassan made sure we got to and from the restaurants in the evening so that we didn't lose our way in the Medina at night. A great spot to explore Tunis and be right at its heart. We'd happily come back! "

"A nicely decorated hotel, certainly not luxury but lovely. My room wasn't great, no balcony as advertised, the view was another wall and smell coming in from the restaurant downstairs. Despite it all, the real luxury in this hotel are the people working there, everyone, from the porter to the reception guys to the breakfast lady, were so nice and considerate that made my stay the best I could have. I felt safe and taken care of, which is something you want when solo travelling. Thanks Royal Victoria!"

"Exceptional. This is probably the best hotel we have stayed at in over 40 years of travelling. The suites are huge and immaculate. The service is wonderful from breakfast to the turn down service in the evening with fruit and chocolates. The staff are all friendly and helpful in arranging taxis , the airport pickup and the hammam. It’s in a perfect location for exploring the medina with some fantastic restaurants around.We were there for a week and throughly enjoyed it, we highly recommend Dar El Jeld when in Tunis. "

"The room was very well decorate, spacious, and clean. The staff was what made this a wonderful hotel. They went out of their way to make us feel right at home. They scheduled a taxi pickup and drop off from the airport, contacted a doctor to visit my sick daughter in the hotel, gave us advice on things to see in Tunis; plus many other things. The breakfast was fantastic. It is located in the medina and you can easily walk to all the sites. Definitely stay here if you visit Tunis."

"I choose the smaller economy room this time, and it was still decently sized. Also spent more time relaxing on the lounges on the 4th and 5th floors. Honestly, the hotel is great. Good location, helpful staff, close to a Monoprix supermarket."
