Jan Kok is a beautiful and cute lodge. It is a great spot if you are planning to go to the north west beaches on the island. It is located right in the middle of the island. Garden is beautiful and you can see a bunch of nature surrounding you. Many Iguanas and birds around the lodge. Maintained well and clean. The hosts are helpful and friendly.

Lovely stay! Feels like you’re living at a beautiful, peaceful resort. The landscaping is very well maintained and amazing views for the price. The hosts were so kind and very good with communication. Great place to stay for our vacation, and it was a great location- near the beautiful beaches on the west coast while not being far from the capital. If you are staying here, MAKE SURE you bring European outlet converters!

A literal oasis. The photos don’t do it justice. Friendly, communicative, and welcoming hosts. Great, central location. The three studios share an outdoor kitchen that we used almost every night. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Bring bug spray though. There are mosquitos and tiny biting ants that nibbled all my limbs every time I sat outside on our patio.

You cannot find a better place to stay in Curacao. We'd stayed 4 nights in WIllemstad and are angry we didn't just spend our whole week here. The property is perfect, the landscaping is beautiful, the pool amazing to cool off after a long day and accress to some of the best beaches on the island are nearby. All with a quick 20-25 min drive into the city. It is the perfect place to really unwind without all the cruise ship madness. Do not hesitate when looking, it truly is amazing. Frederieke, the owner is an absolute gem as well - we'd arrived early with the intention of just leaving out bags, but our place was ready so we checked right in. We also had a late flight out and they were more than happy to allow us to stay past the check out time. Do not think twice!

Peaceful, quiet, and well maintained gardens with an abundance of birds. Easy drive to the top beaches and snorkeling waters. Nice supermarket nearby. The lodge we stayed in was quite nice. However, ceiling fan would have made it even better. Nice kitchen with professional style stove. Unfortunately the cookware was not to the same standard. One low quality fry pan and so so sauce pans. A real disappointment for someone who prepared all meals in the lodge. An email with the check-in instructions was sent quite late the evening before we left for the airport so we did not view it. When we arrived we had no idea how to enter. We called the WhatsApp number and no one answered. We then honked the horn and still no one. Finally after a few more minutes. Someone came.

This was truly an oasis in the desert! Lush green & floral surroundings with many colorful birds. Our lodge was fully equipped with a spacious outdoor space for enjoying morning coffee. Charming pool area with many comfortable areas for relaxing. Jeroen & Frederieke were both accommodating & a pleasure to deal with.

Die jan-kok-lounge liegt zentral auf der Insel , so dass man schnell in willemstad aber auch an den wunderschönen Stränden im Westen ist. Wir hatten das Apartment Nummer 5. Besonders hat uns die riesige Veranda mit vollwertiger Küche, essbereich und Sofas gefallen, wir waren nur zum Schlafen im Haus drinnen. Der Pool ist klein aber sauber und angenehmen temperiert. Frederieke und Jeroen sind sympathische und unkomplizierte Gastgeber, die uns sogar vom Flughafen abgeholt und hingebracht haben. Es war einfach wunderbar dort.

Sehr schöne Anlage. Netter Empfang von den Inhaber. Die Lage ist perfekt, weit von jedem Stadtrummel. Ideal zum entspannen nach einem vollen Tag von Ständen und schnorcheln … Sehr empfehlenswert!!

Grounds were pretty. Room was clean and nice. Patio was nice, pool was nice. Host was friendly. But in terms of it being a “hotel” - and also the idea that it’s next to this beautiful lake - we were very let down. First off - upon check in, you’re told you need to take your own garbage out? Extra garbage bags and toilet paper cost money? And they don’t supply you with soap or shampoo? Being told we need to pay for using the A/C AFTER OUT STAY WAS OVER?! Never in my 20 years of hotel stays have I experienced that. That is a hostel style, not hotel. The “lake” is a collection of ankle deep mud puddles that sickly looking flamingos stay in? When we initially checked in, after using the water in the restroom, the entire unit started to smell like septic/a sewage. With windows open, it cleared up easy enough. But when asked about it, the host said “not one guest has ever complained about this before,” which I just find impossible. If a room sits for a single day unused and that’s how the water smells - again, no big deal - then it has happened before. And she made us feel like we were being difficult about it. Then the A/C situation really got me angry. Before booking, I called the host on WhatsApp and confirmed the rooms had AC. Her exact words were “you won’t survive curaçao with AC.” Then she asked us to pay, in cash, for using the AC at night, despite us being super conscious of turning off all lights and electricity during the day. Overall, super uncomfortable to be a guest.

The place is both beautiful and super convenient. The location is great, all our fav beaches we 10-15 min away (by car). The place is super well maintained and tranquil. Huge bonus is that they really took care of all the things you might need: kitchens are very well equipped, so are yhe suits, plus they even had beach coolers and towels. The hosts are super nice and responsive as well.

Frederieke and her husband have created this wonderful jungle oasis that was serene and so well taken care of. It was a great way to explore the middle of the island and they were very communicative. The outdoor kitchen and barbecue are great, and it was such a treat to be in nature. Would visit again!

Die Unterkunft sah genau so aus wie auf den Bildern, mitten im Grünen. Es war wunderbar ruhig und friedlich, man hat nur das Zwitschern der Vögel gehört. Die Gastgeber Frederieke und Jeroen waren sehr hilfsbereit, aufmerksam und immer gut erreichbar. Es gibt einen digitalen Reiseführer mit Tipps für Restaurants, Strände etc., das war sehr hilfreich. Die gesamte Anlage war sehr gepflegt. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

I spent a week at Jan Kok while on a birding holiday. The property is safe, quiet, and perfect for those looking for privacy and seclusion. This is a great choice for birders, as the property has lots of plants and resident birds, and it's only a 10-minute walk to the nearby salina, where flamingos and other waterbirds abound. A car is absolutely necessary, but there's a grocery store and restaurants within a 10-minute drive. The lodges are very clean and stocked with all the basic kitchen tools, but bring your own soap, shampoo, and coffee or tea. Highly recommended for independent travelers who want to avoid the noise and bustle of resorts.

Hotel adequado, mas não me agradou.

O quarto é grande e equipado. A condição geral da hospedagem adequada, mas não é estilo de hotel que gosto. Consigo entender os hóspedes que deram boas avaliações, mas não me agradou. Localização ao norte da ilha em local isolado, mais próximo das melhores praias e longe do centro de Curacao. Durante a hospedagem não tem limpeza do quarto ou recolhimento do lixo.

Shangri La

We have just returned from a wonderful 2 week stay in stunning Curaçao. This was made perfect by our staying at the amazing Jan Kok Lodges. What Frederieke and Jeroen have created is quite remarkable. An absolute little botanical garden of lodges set in a lush jungly surroundings. It is like entering a Shangri-La, a lost world, a tropical Paradise. Our hosts were always near to hand if we needed any information and were most hospitable. We stayed in the garden bungalow which was spacious and very private. We were surrounded by cacti, aloes and a profusion of tropical plants. We were awoken by the exotic sounds of beautifully coloured tropical birds. The bungalow was well appointed and the laundry and beach towels were regularly changed. The ladies who do the room service were lovely. Renting a car is essential for getting around we rented direct from Jan Kok Lodges. In the package, Jeroem met us from the airport and after a 9 hour flight from Amsterdam that was a bonus in itself as the place is tucked away and not so easy to find in the first instance. However the property is well placed to reach all the best beaches on the island. There is a relaxing pool area which we used but were out most days and ate out most evenings. There are plenty of restaurants a short drive away. If you want to get away from the tourist areas with the cheap tacky souvenir shops, bars, music and budget hotels, Jan Kok presents and oasis in the real Curaçao. You will not be disappointed!

Awesome property and location. I greatly prefer this side of Curacao especially for access to beaches and awesome snorkeling

Meist denkt man ja, langjährige Stammkunden der Unterkunft beschönigen hier bei den Bewertungen vielleicht ein bisschen, deshalb war auch ich vor meiner Reise noch zurückhaltend. Aber während meines Aufenthalts ist mir schnell klar geworden, dass jedes positives Urteil hier voll und ganz zutrifft. Das beginnt bei der freundlichen, schnellen und hilfsbereiten Kommunikation via Whatsapp oder auch persönlich, geht weiter über die tadellose Ausstattung der Unterkunft und endet bei der zweifellos liebevoll gestalteten Anlage insgesamt. Ich habe mich an jedem meiner Tage auf Curacao darauf gefreut, nach einem intensiven Sightseeing-Tag wieder zurück zur Unterkunft zu kommen und dort den Tag ausklingen lassen zu können. Einziger Minuspunkt: Die Insel Curacao ist ebenso wunderschön und ich hatte ein bisschen ein schlechtes Gewissen, dass ich die Vorzüge der Unterkunft gar nicht voll ausnutzen konnte. Man könnte einen Tag komplett in der Jan Kok Lodge verbringen und es wäre nie langweilig. Sicher könnte man die Zufahrt ein klein wenig verbessern - der Schotterweg ist ok, aber die größeren Löcher am Abzweig wären vielleicht vermeidbar. ;) Ich würde wirklich uneingeschränkt jederzeit wieder hier übernachten wollen, wenn ich auf Curacao wäre. Das schreibt man bei vielen Bewertungen vielleicht etwas leichtfertig hin, aber noch noch nie war ich so davon überzeugt wie diesmal.

Goede centrale ligging tussen Willemstad en Westpunt met allerlei kleine standjes op korte afstand. Mooi aangelegde tuin en prettige accommodatie voor mensen die rust zoeken. De lodge was ruim en, schoon en goed. Zwembad is klein en op het moment van aankomst niet schoon, verder ook geen gebruik meer van gemaakt

Very nice garden Bungalow, well equipped with everything, tons of towels, great kitchen. Very kind owners. Cool breeze on the hill, centrally located for beach&diving
