"Best pool ever! I thoroughly enjoyed lounging by the pool. Poolside staff were helpful and friendly (Martin and Christina are great bartenders). The food at Salt was excellent. We almost didn't want to venture out and explore other dining options 👌 Will return."
"We loved our stay. The room was beautiful, large and clean. Air conditioning worked great. We had a Studio with kitchenette, which was actually a complete kitchen with full size fridge/freezer. It was well stocked for 2. Coffeemaker, microwave, dishes, pans, utensils. We used the grocery store at the bottom of the hill. Loved the porch w/chairs and convenient drying rack. We were at the top of the hill which was very steep. But some helpful ladies told us right away to call for a shuttle. We used this regularly, not being as fit as we used to be, lol! It would have been tough without it. Our stay included the breakfast buffet at La Patrona which was fabulous!! So many options-from American to Caribbean fare. Plus fruit, protein options, juices etc. Loved it!! The view of the bay, sitting outside, was my favorite way to start the day! The head hostess lady there each day(missed her name😕) was incredible. She knew how much I liked the view and always gave us a table closest to the water. The resort is huge and goes up a steep hill. There are pools all over so many are super quiet. The beach is crowded of course but to be expected. Loved the Coco beach Bar Happy Hour! The ocean was quite stirred up when we were there but actually had great snorkeling right next to the jetty behind the bar. Saw fish, 3 cool cuttlefish/squid, and even found a conch with a small octopus in it! Had a car and explored the island. Hotel was close to where our boat trips left as well. I Recommend it!"
"What an amazing property and an even better experience! The rooms were so spacious and clean. The staff went above and beyond during our entire stay. The location was great for walking around as well. Can't wait to come back!"
The Atrium Beach Resort and Spa, an Ascend Collection Resort
10/10 Excellent
"All the staff here are amazing! So kind and helpful. We had an issue with the room assigned to us so we had to go back down to the check in to advise them of the issue (we weren’t complaining or asking for anything, but they immediately upgraded us!). If you stay here, definitely try and get an ocean front view. The views are lovely, the beach is right there! All rooms are equipped with a full kitchen, which we made use of as there are a few nearby grocery stores where you can get food/snacks etc.
The staff provided us with helpful tips/places to go, and about the bus routes.
There is a small pool, but since the beach is literally at your feet, it’s not an issue. Designated beach chairs/umbrellas for our hotel meant we never had to search for them. We never had issues with getting one when we wanted.
Multiple restaurants/bars are in walking distance. The bus stops a short walk away.
A great location with great staff!"
"Room was clean and lovely, the bed comfy, good layout. Ocean view spectacular, bathroom good: plenty of towels water pressure good. Minor things: kitchen needs a set of tongs for turning and lifting hot items while cooking, the shower is a bit awkward because of the opeing to step in and the fan leaked over the toilet. Otherwise, a great place for my first visit to St. Martaan. The staff was kind and friendly and helpful always."
Commodore Suites, SureStay Collection by Best Western
2/10 Terrible
"What a disappointment this property was. I arrived and was given a room that had a dead bird on the path leading to my room. Along with a large pool of water from rainfall that required me to move and squeeze between patio furniture to get around the water. For such a centrally located hotel, it was a ghost town during carnival, which was the first red flag.
I finally access my room and immediately I could tell the room wasn’t clean. The kitchen surfaces and cabinets all had smear marks as if wiped down with dirty cloth. This was also the case in the elevator and glass windows. I opened a cabinet only to be hit with the strong odour of rotting garbage because bin wasn’t emptied from the previous guest. My room was changed because housekeeping and maintenance had left for the day which I found odd because it was only 6pm.
I get to my new room and it as worse. No hot water, dirty dishes/surfaces, and a safe that I couldn’t use. I had to return to the front desk 3 times because the room key I was given didn’t work and the electronic safe was locked and dead. Front desk told me to come back for a key to the safe which was a waste of time because there wasn’t a lock on the safe where the key could be used. I had a 14 hour travel day and couldn’t take a shower because there was no hot water or maintenance staff onsite. I cancelled the rest of my reservation.
All but one of the staff were very pleasant. The front desk lady on my checkout day had a bad attitude."
"My stay at this resort saved my trip. I booked at this property last minute after a terrible one-night stay at another property and it was the best decision. Being welcomed to a beautiful big lobby with views of the marina and a dedicated Expedia check-in line was very special.
I was greeted by Josephine (Concierge) and Marcel (Property Manager) who went above and beyond to make my check in process smooth and quick. Josephine truly embodies customer service by her thoughtfulness. She went out of her way to assist with getting me a car rental and even asked how I was doing when I ran into her at the carnival village. Marcel made it a point to say goodbye during my checkout and enquire about my stay. All of the staff were friendly, helpful, and really pleasant. This is a well operated property and I look forward to returning. My thanks to everyone for contributing to an amazing first visit to the island.
My only recommendation for the rooms would be to add a full length mirror. Other than that, the room was spacious, clean, and well maintained. "
"This property the area and the view was wonderful however I found that the living room and dining area furniture was very dingy. There were stains all over the furniture there were ants on the table and on table and on the wall. The towels were very dingy not white"
