"Phenomenal, phenomenal! This was extremely comfortable, wonderful staff, lovely room with a great view of the bay. We saw the fireworks for the Black Ship Festival. The balcony onsen was extremely private and comfortable. Would highly recommend that this be your number one choice of hotel if you are in Shimoda."

"Really enjoyed our stay. Perfect day of relaxation in an otherwise exhausting trip. Location is slightly out of the way but extremely charming (even in winter), and the train ride from Atami station was absolutely breathtaking with the seaside views."
"The room was spotless, the staff were so friendly and incredibly helpful. We were late for check in so they kindly laid out our futon for us so we could go straight to bed. Perfect service, thank you! "
"This hotel was breathtaking. The views were spectacular, service was amazing and so was the food. I would 100% recommend everyone I know to stay here. This was something else!"
"We got a suite with a private jacuzzi on the balcony - the view was great, but the place is falling apart a bit. The tub was leaking in places and had a slime-y residue inside, and multiple floorboard soft the balcony were rotted through and gave way underfoot. The photos here aren't quite reflective of the property's current state. Even in the public onsen, the windows are covered with salt on the outside, obscuring the view. Beautiful place and the food they serve was good, but some updates are much needed and we felt a bit gipped. "
