"We had a great stay here. Located in a historic building and a stones throw from the cathedral so easy walking distance to Kirkwall attractions and easy access to roads for all parts of the island. Very friendly welcome and a tasty breakfast each morning. It is a historic building so stairs and corridors but clean and safe with a comfy bed, what more do you need? We would happily go back to Orkney and hopefully when we do we will be able to book the West End Hotel for our stay."

"The hotel is in a beautiful location, near mountain views, a quaint bridge and river. The hotel has a restaurant attached with amazing food. Breakfast was well worth it. The room itself was newly updated. It had a fan, radiator, heated towel racks, and a very comfortable bed. They had cute snacks, water, and hot cocoa in the room!"

"For this level of stay I would expect shampoo and conditioner in the shower, face cloths, selection of tea (not just loose bags pushed in a cannister) and better blackout curtains. Having said that we had a lovely room with fabulous view."

"The perfect location for all of your Isle of Skye exploration. Nice staff and good clean rooms. My husband and I found the room nice with a beautiful first floor view of the grounds but a little cramped and maybe needing a little refresh. We were told it was an upgrade due to the view, however the room was next to the housekeeping closet which meant it was quite loud early in the morning. The breakfast each morning was lovely. "Lovely bed and breakfast on the water in Lochaline. Shaley and Peter were gracious and very informative both before and during our stay. Delicious cooked to order breakfast and immaculate spacious rooms. Ferry to mull is a short walk. Highly recommend especially if a nature lover"

"Main issue with the property is it’s location, the state of the access road which is narrow and full of pot holes and some of the rooms. They gave us a room in the attic which was more like a closet turned into a room. The bed was small and not comfortable. We were jet lagged and woke up late so couldn’t try the breakfast, but we did try the bar which was good but overpriced."
