The Hotel was very nice and in a perfect location. The staff were very friendly and polite. The is hardly any l parking, you’ll have to walk about 7-10 minutes away. The restaurant has a great breakfast that is included. I would defray here again.
This was the best location and the most unique hotel in Portree. The room was beautiful and the bathrooms have been redone. We loved it!! The food was incredible!! Close to everything in town. Make sure you get there early though parking in town is limited, and the rules are not easy to figure out, so we found a parking ticket on our car in the morning. Besides that - it was incredible
My husband and I stayed here for two nights as a part of our honeymoon, and it was absolutely beautiful! The location was stunning, and we loved being able to explore the surrounding area. The scenery alone made this stay memorable, you can see the famous colourful houses along the water front.
One thing to keep in mind is that the street can be quite busy with vehicle traffic, so be cautious when walking around. Parking was a bit of a hassle, as there is no dedicated hotel parking. You can park along the road or use nearby public car parks, but it's something worth considering when planning your stay.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience, and the beautiful location made it well worth the stay!
Beautiful, Portree Hotel. Great location. Conveniently has a restaurant inside the hotel.
Comfortable beds and quiet. My family enjoyed our stay! Definitely will stay again.
Only lobby & restaurant are well maintained & pleasant. Room & halls need updating & repairs. Inoperable window so stuffy & warm. Shower had mold & loose trim. Somewhat noisy from bar on main floor
They were some of the most helpful staff I have ever seen. They made feel as if I were family. They even arranged for a very late, passed seating time, when I was late for dinner because of a flat tire. I could go on...
Very clean room, I enjoyed using the Highland Soap Company products in the bathroom. Plentiful water/tea/biscuits supplied during our stay - real taste of the highlands. Breakfast was delicious at the restaurant located within the hotel.
Convenient store just 1 minute walk from the hotel which is well stocked with regular supermarket items. Parking out front of the hotel was easy to access but did get busy at times, I was able to find parking down the street. Overall really lovely hotel worth the hefty pricetag given its location - would definitely return again if I visit Portree.
Only downside was that there was no lift, but luckily we packed light.
Lovely place. Great to return to after a day exploring the Isle. The staff was brilliant. Food excellent, great bar to unwind after long day. Room was comfortable with nice bed and great shower after long days.
Room was fine. We never tried the paid breakfast because simply they forgot to put the order in and we waited 45 min for it - eating away the early morning that we had plan to visit Skye - and nothing came. The main waiter tried to gaslight us that they did not forget us - they were “adding” special touches to it (to boiled eggs on an avocado toast?!?). Everyone that arrived at sining room after us ate and left.
As we were leaving hungry, they offered to put the food that was just ready in to go boxes. We waited another 5 min and no boxes came.
We believe that they had an issue with us from the night before, as we had asked to move tables from one in front of service door (that they were keeping open).
Apart from this, and from the main waiter being a little passive aggressive, the family room was fine and the location in the village is very nice. Parking is a problem, but manageable.
