Top Saurbaer Hotel Reviews

Hotel Hamar

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel staff was very welcoming. They also called when there was northern lights visible outside."

Hótel Hafnarfjall

8/10 Good

"The hotel had very nice views. The lady at check-in was extremely friendly. The hotel seems a bit old with worn carpet, etc but it was still a very nice stay. There was a very strong sulfur smell from the hot water in our room which is typical in a lot of Iceland hotels. In Iceland you will smell sulfur a lot all over and we got used to it pretty fast. This hotel did not have self check-in like many others do. We were concerned we would not make it in time while the front desk was still open so we called and they told us not to worry, someone will be there for us. We enjoyed our stay."

Hvammsvik Nature Resort

8/10 Good

"The house was very clean and amenities were great. The only downside to this stay is the wind is VERY loud at night. Just be aware if you are a light sleeper :)"

Hotel Stafholt

10/10 Excellent

"Spacious and comfortable room and bed. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast and hot tub under the stars. Beautiful location in peaceful surroundings. Scenery and nature are perfect. Enjoyed our stay here."

Setrið Guesthouse

10/10 Excellent

"Great stay, all was nice!"

Fossatún Country Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"I’ve stayed here three times over the past 10 years. Most recently in October 2026. The property is very well maintained and looks the same as it did 10 years ago. If I am going to West Iceland I always stay at the Fossatun hotel. It’s also a great place to see the aurora."

Basalt hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Very friendly staff, good dinner, and a wonderful natural pool."

Hótel Borgarnes

10/10 Excellent

"Good location. Nice staff. Room is big. Easy park."

Hotel Glymur

10/10 Excellent

"Probably our favorite hotel that we stayed at in Iceland. Super cozy and comfortable and the view was awesome. The staff are incredible friendly and helpful and we cant wait to come back."
