First impression when we arrived was the total lack of service in the reception. We had been told (hotels.com) that we could check in at 15.30. We were told in the reception that check in was not until 17.00. After waiting and waiting and waiting in the reception we didn't actually get our room until 18.00. Really unheard of!
The room itself was nice, but lacking furniture. There was not table by the beds, but instead chairs from the living room were used. There were 6 dining type chairs in our terrace, but no table. We asked to get a table, but this was not possible. Pretty useless with chairs but no table.
We had to pay (a lot) extra to use the pool, which was not even described in the extras, but very well hidden in the hotel policies. I hate hidden extra cost and non-transparent pricing!
The pool was 10 minutes walk away.
The breakfast was by Italian standards fine.
The pools were also fine. Note that the water is very salty, but nice.
The real winner for the hotel, and the reason for the positive 3-rating is the young service crowd helping out from early morning to late evenings. They are tremendous and by far the most positive experience from our stay.
We stayed in a two bedroom apartment for 9 days.
