When you visit San Pedro del Pinatar, make sure to take a wall up the pier near the old wind mill. At the end there's another one. You could go further but you'd walk into the sea. I have been to the Salinas (or salt lakes) of San Pedro del Pinatar a few times now. A common sight in this nature park are the flamingos. It still takes some getting used to, the fact that these birds actually live in Europe as well! The salinas, which get a beautiful reddish shine when the sunlight hits the water the right way, are located in the still pretty unknown province of Murcia, by the coast of the Mar Menor.

We enjoyed our stay. Room was clean, good wifi, walkable to old town and points of interests. You have to pay €15 for parking every day. It is in a busy area but they have great sound barriers between the walls and the windows are also blocking the noise of the road. The room needs a bit of tlc you ...
