This is a nice place, but they really, really, need to let folks know that this place is very remote and the road is very bad. Great if you want to bring everything and just stay there, but it is a 45 minute drive on bad, unlit roads to come or go from the lodge. "We booked 4 nights at La Mariposa Hotel, but after staying only 1 night, we decided to leave because we were very disappointed with the hotel, the room condition (hair in the bathroom, no hot water and full of insects), and the overall maintenance. We tried several times to contact the hotel and explain our concerns, hoping they would at least try to help or compensate us for the 3 nights we didn’t stay, but nobody really handled our complaints properly. The staff and management were rude, dismissive, and not helpful at all. During one of the conversations, we were even told that they “know everybody in Costa Rica” and that we wouldn’t be able to find another hotel room, which made the situation feel very uncomfortable and unprofessional. Very disappointing experience overall."
