Il Castagnolo was the perfect quick Tuscan stay for our family. The accommodations are pleasant and comfortable. The pool is cold and overlooks the beautiful countryside, and it’s a very quick ride into San Gimignano town as well as surrounding Tuscan vineyards.

This place is stunning! Laura looked after us superbly and nothing was too much trouble. The property make their own white wine and olive oil which were delicious. Breakfast offered a good continental selection and the coffee was incredible! Pool was a welcome touch and offered plentiful space to relax and unwind. Our room was a little small and was the basic room. Our friend had a larger room so make sure to check that. It’s only around 12-15 rooms. Main tip is you must have a car! We banked on a taxi from San Gimignano and battled over 4 hours to get one! Ruined the vibe at the start of our break. It’s very remote. Would still highly recommend. We will be back.

Bom hotel nos arredores da cidade!

Muito boa a experiência no hotel fora da cidade. É rodeado de vinhedos o que deixa um charme a parte. As condições de conservação do banheiro poderiam ser um pouco melhores, mas no geral é muito bom! Estilo mais rústico.

Heimreise durch die Toscana

Etwas schwierig zu finden und die Zufahrt könnte wirklich etwas ausgebessert werden. Das Gut/Unterkunft liegt super, nahe zu San Gimignano und bestens gelegen für Ausflüge nach Volterra und Siena. Zimmer sehr speziell im Shabby-Chic Look eingerichtet. (sehr romantisch) Das Frühstück fanden wir aussergewöhnlich gut! Leider Poolpumpe ausser Betrieb, es war so schön und warm, dass wir gerne gebadet hätten. Bequeme Liegen und Tische mit Stühlen waren im Garten zahlreich vorhanden. Würden die Unterkunft wieder buchen.

Per raggiungere l’hotel è necessario percorrere almeno 50 metri su un sentiero non asfaltato con buchi e sassi di grosse dimensioni. Dubito che un’auto sportiva possa farcela… Arriviamo e, a detta della signora che ci accoglie, ci viene data una delle camere più belle. Scopriamo che la colazione non e’ compresa ma io l’ho prenotata e pagata. La trapunta è infeltrita e sporca, l’aria condizionata non funziona (e il convettore e’ pieno di polvere) e troviamo un ventilatore, la tv e’ a tubo catodico con immagini che sfarfallano. Nella prenotazione e’ compresa aria condizionata e tv a schermo piatto. Tutta la camera verniciata in tinta azzurra a coprire il vecchio che sta sotto, compresi interruttori di altra epoca. Il bagno e’ una caporetto! Un portacarta igenica completamente arrugginito, il coperchio del wc vecchio e logoro, il rubinetto del lavandino vecchio e arrugginito. Dato il livello di incuria non ci siamo fidati di un cambio camera e siamo andati via.

Beautiful area not great house to stay at.

The farm house is in a beautiful location. The grounds have a nice pool with comfortable chairs and tables. The room was large however the bathroom is awful and very small, shower in need of repair, toliet so near shower could not sit straight! The breakfast area is nice although the breakfast is very weak, coffee good but not any real choices and they had the same cake out the 4 days we were there for? The owners do not speak any English, we live in Spain so we are ok with the idea that they don't speak our language however it would be nice for just a few words and advice of surrounding area if they are going to run a B&B. There was no access to water after 7PM and they do not leave you any in room, very unusual. Without saying no bar area to enjoy the courtyard or views. I would encourage people to stay in this area as its truly remarkable but we saw so many other choices that looked nicer with more amenities.

Nos encantó este lugar, súper tranquilo y muy cómodo! Nos quedamos una noche y fue espectacular, hay que subir un piso pero no fue problemas con la valija ni con mi embarazo. El baño súper amplio y también la habitación, camas y almohadas muy cómodas y con una vista hermosa. El desayuno súper completo y delicioso! La vista del lugar es mágico y la casa es hermosa llena de flores. El perro de la casa es lo máximo, el se encarga de recibir a cada persona que llega! Gracias por todo!!

Estancia de dos dias. Muy bien.

Ubicacion comoda, cerca de San Gimignano. No tenia restaurante abierto asi que no podiamos cenar alli asi que teníamos que llegar cenados. La piscina tampoco estaba operativa aunque no hacia tiempo de piscina. Habitacion limpia y completa. Poco parking. Desayuno bueno, buena atencion. Muy bonito. En general bien.

Incantevole pausa dalla routine quotidiana. Ho trascorso tre giorni stupendi, qui la parola d'ordine è tranquillità. L'attenzione e la cura per ogni cosa fanno di questa struttura la meta ideale per visitare ogni giorno paesini e borghi della zona, San Gimignano prima fra tutti. Ringrazio ancora Emilio e il suo cane che hanno saputo essere accoglienti ed ospitali pur essendo entrambi molto pacati e riservati.

Hôtel très bien placé à 5mn de San Giminiano qui est un village magnifique - une bastide paisible où nous avons très bien dormi. Le personnel charmant à l'écoute, se mettent en 4 pour renseigner, pour nous satisfaire.. Nous avions la chambre de bonne - aménagée avec goût, très agréable. La salle de bains aurait pu être un peu plus soignée.

Nice Farmstay Accommodation
