Our holiday

Lovely hotel,staff were brilliant,the lady who cleaned our rooms was the happiest person always with a smile on her face and left the room spotless. The entertainment was good and there was something on all day if you wanted Food was nice,pool was great abd the grounds are lovely. It was my partners birthday and the even left a card and a small box of chocolates in our room on the day.

A pleasant surprise. I didn’t know what to expect but it really impressed me. Great hotel for kids and families but also me (as a solo traveller) enjoyed it. Loved the help yourself element to the all inclusive. Means there weren’t any huge queues at the bar. Rooms were a very good size. The hot food for dinner could’ve had a bit more flavour and variety but that was one of a few downsides. I’d visit again in a heartbeat.

Hotel is nice. Amazing location right on the dunes. Food provision and pools are excellent and the staff were great. Lots of the rooms overlook the entertainment area which make it very noisy until 10.30pm but the hotel were good about moving us to a quieter room. A few things need updating a little, the decor is a bit tired in places and a few broken sunbeds etc but on the whole it was a great place for a family holiday.

Decent hotel with big roome

Be aware it is a very family oriented hotel! Adults-only is only one floor. All inclusive trip but everything seemed a bit watered down. Buffet was good, lots of options and selections but everything tasted bland, like it was watered down. Service was nice and pool area was nice. Still, clean and a good location, close to the dunes.

Better than expected

Booked the cheapest room for one week in February to get away from Swedish winter. Price was mid-range, but the room was better than expected, even got some ocean view even though it was not advertised. Top 3 all inclusive foods I have had. The Asian and Mexican evenings was reallly really good. Pool area was nice as well. Only bad thing was the gym which was really poor…

Spent 5 nights here. Property needs tlc. Lots of broken floor tiles around and bottom of bathroom door rotting. Food always lukewarm. Thank goodness for the microwave. Nice plush reception and all the staff are excellent. Bed really comfortable. Property maintenance manager needs to walk around and see the problems mentioned and the restaurant manager needs to temperature probe the food. Soup I had to microwave for about a minute and the main meals around one and a half minutes.

Ok but can be better with allergies food

We had booked for 4 days , happy with the stay, just with all inclusive and we are vegeterian they dint had much options and specially for the eggless dessert there was nothing for the kids, not even a single day they tried for vegan or something for special allergens that I dint liked it the most, I asked at reception they said mentioned to chef, did that every single day every time I went for asking something dessert for the kids but nothing . Apart from that it was a nice stay.

We had insects in the room, they sprayed, but they came back. The shower was leaking frim the ceiling when we took showers, and not lioked at. The food could use an upgrade and the building could use some upkeeping. The staff at the restaurant and bars were amazing!!!

A reviving, relaxing family stay at Abora Catarina

Less good news first: the price (sorry for mentioning money in this context,,,) . Then the good news: A very good stay with competent service from a skilled and helpful hotel administration. Excellent buffet food and service, congratulations! Lots of care and planning in order to produce diversified activities for the hotel guests. Some might consider that the daily presentations on the theatre scene in the pool area were quite loud (until 23.oo-24.oo hours), but they were also good with something for everybody. Did somebody necessarily have to sleep very early on vacation in Gran Canária? The hotel's programme and service efforts deserve praise. We had a comfortable room with a beautiful view, and the spacious hotel area with lots of different features was a pleasure.

Good, but needs an update/renovation!

All inclusive is a nice option! But the breakfast and dinner was way under average! Lunch, on the other hand, was excellent!! Fresh, tasty and good dishes/salads. We had a room with private pool; very nice! But no children should be allowed in that buliding - too noisy!!! The cleaning must stop moving furniture around (dragging chairs over the floor)...makes a lot of noise underneath! That goes for the gardeners as well, in the early mornings.... The hotel needs a renovation; water damages all over the hotel. But the staff is nice and serviceminded!
