"Amazing opportunity to stay in a real castle with such a rich history. The staff, especially Jon, were outstanding. Everyone was so accommodating. It seems like they have been making constant improvements to the property. The spa closes early (6p) and several amenities in the spa were out of order. "The bed was so comfortable after a long journey! The shower was hot and the neighborhood very quiet. We never knew other guests were here until our breakfast and David was very accommodating and gracious and we enjoyed dining with the other travellers. Breakfast was delicious and Figgy the spaniel made us feel very welcome as well!"

"Our room was clean and comfortable - very charming. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Loved the quaint atmosphere - the meals in the gastropub were very tasty. The only concern we had is that the bed was a little too hard for us and the pillows too soft - but features like that are very subjective so that might not be a problem for you! The Inn is situated on a main road so can get very busy at times. Our room did overlook the road but once the window was closed and blinds drawn it was quieter....

"The hotel ground had many trees and surrounded by green vegetation. The place had the air of tranquility. My stay was peaceful and relaxing. I enjoyed the old-world charm. "Séjour de 2 nuits à l’hôtel, nous étions 2 adultes et 3 ados. Nous logions dans un lodge a côté du bâtiment principale au rez de chaussé. La chambre était spacieuse et agréable. Nous avons très bien dormi. Nous avons garé gratuitement notre voiture sur le parking de l’hôtel et avons tout fait à pied (environ 40mn de marche de la vielle ville). "

"My hotel room was nice and clean, and the host Erol was very attentive and helpful, and made sure I had everything I need. It was really useful having a microwave in my room - saved me a lot of money on breakfast! It's only about 25-30mins drive from Edinburgh but a lot cheaper than similar hotels in the city."
