I don't think I'm the desired patron for this establishment. If you're a couple planning to do nothing but stay on property, it might be a great fit. But as a traveler who arrived by train, nothing was convenient about my stay. Lucas at the bar was wonderful. Rest of the staff were incredibly dismissive. Ended up checking out before sun up because I couldn't even get a cup of coffee. Kettle in my room had water, no clue from where or how long it had been there. But when I told staff they didn't even try to accommodate me. Just ignored me. Again probably great for some. Wasn't even passable for me.

This hotel truly has a wow factor. Impressive from the moment you arrive. Michelle made the check in a delight. Perfect combination of professional and friendly. The room was incredible. It was a true castle experience. The house keeping staff added a level of excellence. Both dinner and breakfast were perfect. This is a property not to be missed.

Melville Castle provided us with an unforgettable stay! Surrounded by a large wooded area, it offers lovely trails for walks. Beautiful and the castle itself feels true to its theme. The food was delicious as well.

We have stayed here three times now and will certainly be back. It is ideal for travelling with our dog; the staff fuss him, he gets to be with us in the dog-friendly mini dining-room and got his own sausage at breakfast. We found the evening dining room in the basement a bit tricky with a spiral staircase so the staff set a table for us on the ground floor. Huge comfy bed and plenty space in the rooms.

This is an exceptional property! Our rooms were incredibly beautiful with outstanding amenities. The front desk staff were welcoming and kind, and Jill took great care of us at breakfast, showing us around the bar and wine cellar and giving us some history. We booked this location incredibly last minute as we needed a place to sleep, that was close to the airport, before an early morning flight. And it completely exceeded expectations. The moment we pulled up, I was ecstatic! IT’S A CASTLE! Honestly every little girls dream to sleep in a castle. Our room was adorable with a canopy bed and the decorations were so well done. I felt like I was in a dream. While we were only there to sleep, I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone in the future because it’s such an incredible place.

Family stay from abroad

Beautiful location and large rooms. Very comfortable beds. The shower in my daughters room frequently went from full on to a trickle, making it difficult to get a shower in. The shower exhaust fan in my room didnt work at all. My son had no complaints on his room. My daughter and her fiance loved the breakfast. The bar was welcoming and had friendly service. The restaurant, though a little overpriced for the serving size, served very delicious dinners. Summer may be brutal without A/C, but it was for us in early spring. Winter, I'm sure, would be great there.
