"An absolute gem in West End!
Staff is fantastic all around. We never had contact with a staff member who didn't greet us, smile or ask if we needed something. We want to recognize specifically Santiago and his never wavering positive attitude and genuine desire to assist.
Our room was exactly what we needed, cleaned everyday, quality fixtures, tasteful decor and fully functional for our needs with a nice outdoor patio.
The boutique-style hotel offers a coffee shop, Bean Crazy, which serves a nice included breakfast menu, or for less than $20 USD you can have a full breakfast which will fill you right up. The coffee is roasted across the hall and is delicious.
Need a souvenir? Attached to Bean Crazy you'll find it at a reasonable cost.
On site security officers kept the hotel and beach area across the street at bay and were always friendly.
During ceuise ship days expect the beach areas to get busy, but never fear Mr. Tucan's keeps a beach chair for you. We never were without a chair for our 10 day stay. The beach area is kept clean by the local population.
The bay has a large buoy area for snorkeling, swimming and paddleboarding. The beach area is fairly shallow throughout, usually not exceeding 10 feet.
If you're looking for local food, entertainment and shopping it is all within a short walk and we never had a bad meal. From street side stands to upscale dining this area has it all.
All-in-all there is no need to look elsewhere. Mr. Tucan's is a top pick."
"Hotel is dated but definitely clean, and well kept. Staff is helpful and provided good customer service. The beach needs to be cleaned, too much seaweed and many rocks, no able to enjoy it. The good options are limited and lacking flavor, the beverage choice is lacking as well. Hotel is located a bit remotely and leaving the facilities will cost you a fortune. "
"Absolutely loved our stay at this place. Everything was a 10/10 and the staff made it so enjoyable. Fernando, Nash, George the security guard and so many other staff members contributed to making our stay fun and peaceful. Favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Quiet and shaded when needed compared to a lot of the other nearby places.. and busy and hustling during prime time in all the good ways. They have certain times and areas open to the outside public who aren’t staying there, but they prioritized their guests above all. They also all work crazy hours too, but never once seemed to complain or be inconvenienced by guests or requests. Everyone was so respectful and kind. We also enjoyed watching the staff’s camaraderie with each other. We were blessed to find this place! Thank you ARCA!

"This hotel is vintage. The rooms are old and if you get the economy room its obvious. Spend the extra if you need more space and a decent view. The restaurants have great service. The breakfast vouchers were a blessing to compensate for poor WiFi. All in all it was a C+ and I was ready to go."
