Water front location is excellent. Nearby shops, restaurants, bars, dive shops. It’s about diving. On site dive shop Moana is very capable and friendly.

This place is an incredible find! After staying in West Bay for years and wanted to change it up and be near all the restaurants and vibe of West End. This place was my heaven. So, peaceful and quiet. We only shared the property with 6 other guests in mid February! Yet a 5 minute walk to the restaurants/stores. Not fancy, but clean, with hot water, comfortable beds and AC. West Bay is best for snorkeling but I was surprised how great snorkeling was on this side of the bay. Early morning, we saw an eagle ray, and an active white spotted octopus. Plus it was fun to watch people on the "Fun Ship" while relaxing on the beach. And it's a short paddle out to play. My family loves our West Bay hotel but I’ll come here mid week solo to get away from the cruise ship madness!

Ocean view was great, short walk to the main strip, quiet at night! Secure w gates locked at night! Highly recommend this place. Jungle vibes without being in the jungle! Beach chairs on site with stairs into the water right near the reef. Excellent snorkeling right there! Rooms very basic, comfortable bed, great shower, Small dorm style refrigerator. Definitely will stay here again! Only downside for me, I wish there was a room to rent with a kitchenette or an onsite kitchen space to use because we enjoy fishing & cooking some nights.

A large part of the proprty is past glory and needs major renovation. But the house,were we had our rooms is in excellent shape and on the whole the location is superb. Moreover, the Moana dive is excellent. Restaurants, bars etc walking distance (lily pond house, café del Palo, the argentinian Grill, the Sundowner bar and the Beach House..

We love this funky little Hotel with the beautiful oceanfront view. The rooms are simple, but they are very clean and it is just a short walk to town. Matilda and Renee are very good hosts. I recommend this place if you want nothing fancy but in a beautiful location.

This resort is wonderfully low-key! Rooms and bathrooms are very clean, towels refreshed daily, very quiet and the reef is right outside your door! Located a short walk from the main strip, so it's quiet yet convenient. Lovely staff and owners. I'll definitely return!

Hotel too rustic if what you are looking for is Resort/Local vibes. No front desk, no restaurant, no bar, easy access to the bay but hotel communal area not well maintained, housekeeping, the minimal (straining the bed, garbage, towels) they turn off the AC when you are not in the room, easy access, walking distance to all the restaurants and bars in the area, 25 minutes from the airport they arrange airport transportation with 24 hours notice.

Excellent return visit

We had an incredible time at the half Moon Bay resort. This is our second time here and we saw more marine life on the reef off our back porch tha we saw on our paid snorkel excursion. We will continue to return, the staff are excellent. The room is simple and it is great for us, they will also arrange rides to/from the airport.

Absolutely loved our stay at Roatan Halfmoon Resor

This place is a hidden gem -- cozy, peaceful, and clearly very well taken care of. The rooms and grounds were spotless, and everything felt welcoming and comfortable. We had hot water, good AC, and everything we needed within a short walking distance, including restaurants and dive shops. The real highlight was the snorkeling -- just steps from the shore, we found vibrant coral and tons of marine life. No need for a boat trip when you have that right out front! Special thanks to Rene, the owner, who went above and beyond to make our stay smooth and enjoyable. He was incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout. Can’t recommend this place more -- would absolutely come back!

This place was excellent. Private beach with a 2-minute walk to the main street. You could not ask for anything better. Hot water and AC work great. The best is the view from the hammocks. Excellent snorkeling right off the property. Highly recommended!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. My favorite was the hammock on the balcony overlooking the ocean. I spent a lot of time relaxing there. The treetops surrounding had small flowers that the hummingbirds frequented. The used to have a restaurant but i was not bothered in the least that it was closed. The owners hooked me up with airport transportation for $30 each way and a private guide, Marvin that took me out snorkeling. The snorkeling was amazing! Everything was within walking distance or $5 water taxi. Woody's grocery is about 2 blocks away for easy access. I would return to say here.

If you are staying on the island and want a tranquil experience this is the resort for you. Most of the cabins on this property are closed along with the restaurant and bar, which makes for the best experience to enjoy the sounds of nature and the overwhelming feeling that this slice of heaven is all for you. That’s right, why have a crowded noisy restaurant and bar where you want to relax? Here at half moon resort you still have the convenience of a two minute walk to all the restaurants and bars you will ever need and still be able to retreat back to your own secluded, very rustic private hideaway. And best of all the owners Renée and a sister are two of the kindest people you’ll ever meet.

Tranquilité et proximité c'est parfait

L'emplacement est vraiment parfait. On a accès au bord de l'eau pour faire du snorkeling en moins d'une minute. L'endroit est paisible et calme. Pour se rendre en ville, c'est une petite marche de 5 min. Réellement bien éclairée et Sécuritaire (nous revenions de manger à la noirceur vers 20h30). Les hôtes sont sympatiques. Les cabines sont très rustiques, rien du superflux. Deux lits, petites tables, petit rangement pour les vêtements, Mini frigo de style bar, une salle de bain avec douche. Air climatisé et ventilateur. Les lits sont moyennement confortable, mais on s'habitue. Juste pour la tranquilité des lieux.. c'est LA MEILLEURE place dans West-end pour dormir. Nous y retournerons certainement. Merci à nos hôtes !

Great place! Clean, close to town, and a mostly private beach. No frills. Basic cabin living. Wifi worked most times. Walk out your door and swim or snorkels. Will stay there again.

Great as always

This was our fourth trip at Half Moon Bay and it was excellent as always! Great snorkeling access, very walkable to the rest of west end, located on a quiet area within west end. Rooms are simple but clean and have everything that we need.

Very quiet, very basic accommodations. Walk out of your room and in the water snorkeling in seconds. It was our own private lodge. Minutes to walk to any kind of restaurant or diving. Would recommend to anyone. The owners are super cool!
