"I cannot say enough about the desk staff at the Selwyn. We arrived bedraggled and exhausted and they helped us settle in, responded to every request with smiles and helpful suggestions, and were just wonderful. Thank you. The room was clean, beautiful, and very cozy (small), but very nicely laid out and had everything we needed. Thank you all for going the extra mile to help these tired Yanks. ❤️"
"This is a lovely hotel in a quiet part of Richmond. Several nice pubs around. Good car parking and walk into town is 10m (maybe 15 to the station). Staff are friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast. View from the grounds is amazing (it’s a little way up Richmond Hill).

"Beautiful and quiet room, well appointed. The front desk people, a man on check in and a lady on check out, were not very friendly or helpful. Restaurant was delightful. What let down the stay was some of the staff and how they seemed completely uninterested in helping guest! Ushered off the terrace as they said all tables were booked for dinner, this was at a time where not one single table was occupied. We only wanted drinks, were told to sit in the bar which was fine however staff continued to walk past us and and another couple who too were sent to the bar and...
"The check in went smoothly, however the shared bathroom was dirty and the carpets and and walls needed a cleaning. The bedding was clean, and check out was simple."
"The room had green lights that you could not turn off which made it almost impossible to sleep they were so bright. We also were woke up around 8am by knocking on the door, and again 10 mins later - nobody could tell us why or who was doing it. We had breakfast which was across the road and felt hurried by staff. On return to the room the key card didn’t work, we went to reception for a new key, again this didn’t work, had to go back again and the staff didn’t seem remotely bothered. The hotel...
