My room was facing the noisiest street in Reykjavik, but when the windows are closed it's quiet! Very impressive. I got out the day before the fire. Grateful for that and wishing staff and the Center hotels a quick recovery and reopening.

This hotel has an excellent location. Just one street away from Rainbow Road, so the shops and restaurants around it are plentiful. There are a couple great bars with live music. If you are an early to bed person who sleeps lightly, you should know you can hear the music in you room until the nearby bar stops playing. Not a problem for us, just a heads up. There are stop steps to climb before you get to the elevator. If that is difficult for you, be aware. We did not sample the breakfast, but it is nice that it is available. We would stay there again. Thanks to the staff for excellent treatment.

Location was central and was easy to find. Staff were friendly and courteous and very helpful and the room was clean. Only drawback was that our room overlooked the pub/music venue across the street and it was quite loud outside for most of the night (could not hear music, but lots of people outside shouting until well into the early morning). Not really much to be done about it, but noise seemed to carry to the room easily so it was less quiet than I would have liked.

I stayed at this hotel twice during my two weeks in Reykjavik at the end of May and in early June. I had stayed at a different (a little higher end) Center Hotel last year and really like them so stayed again this year, trying another of their brand. Everything was fine, friendly and helpful staff, okay breakfast, very convenient for walking around Reykjavik. Only a block from the gelato shop and bars and restaurants, easy walk to Bus stop#6 to catch the day tours and the Flybus. I was very happy with my stay.
