"Travelling alone with a heavy bag, I appreciated the proximity by foot to the train station, though it was tucked away in its own space and greeney and had no noise, traffic, bad air or sketchy characters: a safe, clean, quiet harbor with easy access to town (just on other side of canal and river - a few hundred yards). Very clean, modern functional decor. Good windows, but also AC that you could turn on/off or adjust! I don't overuse at all, but what a relief after trekking around town for hours on a hot+humid day [n.b. Lueneburg is made out of brick - the older architecture is 'brick Gothic' - it doesn't cool off quickly as the sun goes down!
Breakfast area was very nice as was the breakfast (though no hot foods, - fine by me). No other amenities or areas, aside from a few seats by entrance. A friendly and efficient, well-located place to stay."
"We had an excellent stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the beds were very comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent.
Unfortunately, we had an incident when entering the parking garage. One of our alloy wheels was scratched after hitting the curb. The island where the parking ticket machine is located has an extension that is impossible to see from the driver's seat. As I turned into the garage, I hit this extension with the wheel.
I doubt we were the first guests to experience this, as there were already several scrape marks on it. I would recommend either removing this extension or making it significantly lower to help prevent similar incidents in the future."
"This is a really lovely apartment hotel in a former industrial building, the highlight of which is a Patanoster. The breakfast is excellent and is served in a lovely loft-style setting – high-quality produce such as a superb selection of cheeses, really good scrambled eggs, delicious croissants and so on. The only downsides this time were a) the heat (the room had no air conditioning, which isn’t usually a problem in Hamburg, but this week and last week were really sweltering) and b) the fact that during the week, after 10 pm when the bar closes, there’s no way to buy drinks or anything similar. A small vending machine would be helpful."
